  • Most Underrated Films

So what are your most underrated films of all time? They could be masterpieces that had to become cult classics because most people didn't want to see it, or those that people thought sucked even though you believed it was amazing.

    I offer three choices:

The Royal Tenenbaums - A star studded cast gives a wonderful performance to an off-kilter and very funny movie. It's a great flick, and I think everyone should see it once just to see the genius that is Gene Hackman.

The Big Lebowski - A great movie that is laugh out loud funny. The Coen Brothers normally do not fail, and with this one they knocked it out of the park. Jeff Bridges, Steve Bucesmi, and John Goodmen give GREAT performances (also recommended with this one: O'Brother Where Are Thou).

South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut - A spirited hilarious political satire, which is... get this... a MUSICAL! It is utterly hilarious, and even people that don't like the show will probably enjoy this movie. It deals with issues such as free speech and censorship and provides a great ride on the way.

    Which are your underrated films?

First of all, kudos to Imran for the Royal Tenenbaums and The Big Lebowski nods. Awesome movies, both.

    Underrated movies:

Punch-Drunk Love: Sure, it was acclaimed... but not acclaimed enough .

Brazil Why can no one else see that this is probably the best movie of all time? Except for maybe Rushmore , which I won't put on this list, because lots of people recognize its fantasticity.

A.I. A beautiful film that received an undeserved backlash. Seeing it in theatres is one of my favourite moviegoing experiences. How can everyone love Minority Report , and not this? This was so, so much better.

Beetlejuice Remember how great Burton used to be? I love this movie too much.

Bottle Rocket Sure, it's no Tenenbaums or Rushmore, but it's still a heckuva fun movie.

Zoolander Funniest movie in the last 10 years, probably. Too good.

    Eh, that's enough for now.

L.I.E.: Hampered by initial NC17 ratings due to a homophobic review board, lowered to R but should be about PG-13. Brilliant performance by Brian Cox, especially.

      A.I.: Loved it. =)

                  A.I.

I also liked this flick. It was a bit long in the end, but it told a wonderful story.

I also liked 'Minority Report', but would have prefered if they stuck to the Philip K. Dlck novel.

                            South Park:The Movie sucked!

I find that south park on comedy central is far funnier than the movie was.

The 'beeping' of the swear words on CC is funnier than hearing them swearing. The movie sound like one 90 minute 'fvck' fest.

                            ACK!

A couple of funny lines, but I could do better at making up dialogue.
