I'm having a problem with a popup that shows nudie pictures and wants me to download Haldex, whatever that is. And it opens about 20 popups before it finally stops asking me to download the program. I ran spybot and am running adaware. Spybot had 4 bad cookies only. My impression is that whatever it is, is not seen by Spybot and Adaware

hmm, have you tried the remove program tool?
have you tried downloading a newer version of adaware or spybot?
Haldex appears to have something to do with cars and trucks

Tsk, tsk. If you didn't visit porn sites you wouldn't get popups from them.American by birth, smarter than the average tropical fruit by the grace of Me. -me

I couldn't find more than this link. Íf you can, check your registry. I once had something that was a program, that everytime when I loaded windows changed my startup page. Hard to say if your program loads when you start windows or when you use your browser. If you execute msconfig can you find anything fishy?

did you look for recently created and modified files?
especially in internet folders and the like
also do you have any other utilities?? you can try and remove all 'extra' stuff that way

1. I ran adaware and spybot (both updated to latest update) and removed all bad actors.
2. disconnected from internet and restarted the computer.
3. Problem came back (getting the Haldex signup popups and a porn page showing.)

How do I fix this? I wonder if it is related to my earlier problemwith the messenger program. I see a little icon next to the date that looks like two friends (but with a red x on it) that is I think the messenger program. Even though I'm not in it, it said before that it would still take incoming messages. How can I get rid of that. I don't even want that little icon down there.
My gf is coming over soon and I want the computer clean...
