Yes, but the source is a university of Michigan study.

And my apologies, I wasn't paying particularly close attention to the graphs.

Anyone who thinks underage kids will not drink simply because it's against the law is living in a seriously sheltered world.
no... they'll not drink because the police will arrest them... and maybe use some of that classic "force"...

I am ok with it if it is for your own kids

doing it for other people's kids is illegal and wrong

I'm very concerned about underage drinking in that I haven't done it in too long. Man, I can't wait until I get back to my uni in Pittsburgh.

and people won't do drugs... and people won't commit murder... and people won't enter the country illegally...

Yes lets fill our jails and courts up with teens who drink. We really don't need to concentrate on small matters such as murders, thefts and organized crime.

teen drinking can cause a lot of problems

                  it deffinitely doesn't need encouraged

in most circumstances community service seems to be the best responce

Drinking at any age has the potential to cause problems. They should lower the drinking age to at least 18 and deal with those that are younger in a manner like you suggested. If a person is old enough to get drafted and old enough to be considered an adult, then they should be allowed the simple pleasure of enjoying a cold beer or a bottle of Zima. (for you sissies out there)

Point of the matter is... when kids begin to drive they will eventually begin to drink (at least the stupid ones like me). I would much rather have my kids drinking where I can keep an eye on them then driving off somewhere to get drunk, and then attempting to make it home by curfew...

I use to drink at a buddies house, and his dad even would buy us beer. Only rule, we couldn't leave once we had one beer. Fine by us!

I think the drinking age should be lowered to 16 and the driving age to 18. That way the kids can build a tolerance before the start driving.
                          Monkey!!!

                              I agree with Japher

A 16 year old with a car id far more dangerous than an 18 year old with a beer
