    Recalling that "when you pirate mp3s, you're downloading communism" poster that I came across some time ago, here's a response to the latest proposals by the RIAA and the US govt to hack into people's computers and destroy data and equipment.

                I'll download "things" once-in-a-while, but for the most part it is A) not worth my time nor is it B) as easy as the RIAA et. al. makes it sound, which brings us back to point A).

                  America's had some pretty bad propaganda. There's the WWII stuff with the posters that said, "If you're driving alone, you're driving with Hitler." It was part of a movement to get more carpoolers, fewer cars, less oil in the hands of the consumers. That, of course, puts more oil in the hands of the military.

                        Someone in the UK gov had more of a sense of humour. During the Great Drought of 1975 there was an effort made to get people to conserve water. The most memorable slogan was:

                        Save water, have a bath with a friend.
