Yeah, Reign's out again, to be rerun late no doubt. Anyone have any thoughts about Big O? Especially about some of the weirder aspects? "In the name of God...Ye Not Guilty"? etc. etc.?
Who wants DVDs? Good prices! I swear!

I'm watching it now. It looks good. What is it about anime and big mechs though?

I like the butler. I was surprised when he didn't sound like Jet, though.

--"The best site I could find"

Too bad. Pretty much what I expected, though. Most series either get too little information or way too many sites with the same information.

--"The evil ones stopped showing Trigun to show this- right before they finished the series up, too!"

Heh. They like to do things like this, although they usually show the shorter series all the way through.

Which reminds me. I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but Cartoon Network is going to be airing FLCL this year. Only 6 episodes, so I wonder how they'll handle it. Possibly an afternoon marathon some weekend.

--"OK, so now apparently Reign is "cancelled" again and Trigun is back"

CN's schedule is ever changing. It's one of the problems with them being the main anime-showing channel for most people.

--"I'm assuming it's a bad translation, otherwise, it's just weird..."

It's just weird. ^_^ The Japanese do like to throw English words in, and often don't understand them. Lots of things in anime with English titles or names are just because it "sounds cool", not because it means anything.

I've seen it, but it wasn't that appealing to me. Kind of a Batman knockoff with a mecha, only not as good. It wasn't that popular in Japan, either. The second season was only made after it started getting popular over here.

--"I have seen Laputa castle in the sky recently. I liked it. Any simmilar works someone can recommend?"

Anything by Miyazaki will have a fairly similar feel, although there isn't much steampunk in any of his stories.
If you're looking for Miyazaki-like works, make sure to check out Haibane Renmei when it comes out. Yo****oshi ABe is shaping up to be the next Miyazaki, only without the focus on family films.

As far as steampunk goes, the only show I've seen with a sizable amount of steampunk is Escaflowne. The steampunk mecha are pretty nicely done, and it's got a good story.

--"What is it about anime and big mechs though?"

                Giant robots are cool ^_^

--"what the **** is up with soul taker"

                Never seen it, couldn't answer.

"Exactly! And for expendable people, we have an expendable mecha!"

Just me, but I thought Big O was better than Batman, the music is anyway...
