Imagine that Bill Clinton just said that. How would you feel then?
I'd be shocked that Clinton had the balls. Then give him a .
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

"A nation can survive it's fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banners openly.
But the traitor moves among those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the galleys, heard in the very hall of government itself.
For the traitor appears not a traitor...He speaks in the accents familiar to his victims, and wears their face and their garment, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men.
He rots the soul of a nation...he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city...he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist.
A murderer is less to be feared."
Cicero, 42BC
another quote...
If I could talk to Bush: "you know what Bushy... you go to Baghdad, grab a loud speaker, and then say, "BRING THEM ON!". But you won't. You'll sit in some cushy chair from Crawford Texas, or NORAD, but you aren't man enough to pick up a rifle and put your ass on the line. You couldn't even serve your country in 1972-73 when you had an easy posting. You are pathetic."
BAGHDAD, Iraq, July 2 — A U.S. Marine was killed while clearing mines in Iraq and a U.S. soldier who was wounded in an ambush also died Wednesday, the U.S. military said. As saboteurs intent on stealing oil caused leaks that shut down one of Iraq’s main oil pipelines, U.S. and British politicians vowed to stay the course in Iraq, despite daily attacks that have led some to fear a political and military quagmire.

Mtg,
27 of the did already attack the M1A2 with RPG's and they all met Allah. As I said in a previous post that if one of these guys cannot convince his buddy to join the cause Bush's words will not do it. However, if Bush does get through to these nutbags and piss them off, maybe they might try that attack on the M1A2 again, remember these guys are supposed to be fanaticals.
But I agree it would be pretty damn stupid to attack us in force.
Even fanatics adapt their tactics. Most of our transport is in Humvee and 5-tons, and they can eat those alive. Even though the number of fatalities isn't that high, RPG casualties are something you don't want to ever see, if you don't have to. A lot of guys are going home alive, but ****ed up bad.
Sinapus - try going through Basic & AIT for infantry, Airborne school, Ranger school - any of those. Flight school in the reserves is pretty cush. People pay to go to flight school, and there'd probably be good money to be made now if people could get a Thud or 104 or 102/106 and do a little joyriding in it.

Gotta agree with DanS on this one. If they're going to kill Americans indisciminantly (sp), why not have them attack armed and trained soldiers in their backyards rather than janitors, office workers, and maintanence men in ours?

Well, for one thing, if "they" think they can take our soldiers in the sort of manner they're presently doing so, then "they" may get the idea that going back into the civvie attacking business is more feasible.
Trouble is, we're talking about two "theys" now, so it's not like "they" are losing the capacity to kills us here because "they" are engaged in killing us there.

Good points MtG... glad to see you can shed some more light on the situation.
Here's a new response to Bush, from Howard Dean.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 2, 2003
HOWARD DEAN CRITICIZES BUSH FOR ‘RECKLESS RHETORIC’ TOWARD IRAQI MILITANTS
IOWA CITY, IA—“Today, President Bush provoked Iraqi militants targeting our soldiers in Iraq, saying ‘Bring them on.’ This was incredibly reckless rhetoric.
“These men and women are risking their lives every day, and the President who sent them on this mission showed tremendous insensitivity to the dangers they face. This is the wrong message to send to our troops in the field and their families who wish them a safe return. President Bush should focus on encouraging the keeping of the peace, since that is now our mission.”

Well, as I recall, we have taken out at least two jihadist camps after the war. Then you have the jihadist types who were destroyed during the war by the Iraqi Shiites in the slums of Baghdad.
Then you have posts like the following, by a Baghdadi who is now serving as a translator (I think) for the Americans...
Blogger is a blog publishing tool from Google for easily sharing your thoughts with the world. Blogger makes it simple to post text, photos and video onto your personal or team blog.
So I have reason to believe we're dishing out a lot more than we're taking.

Yes, it gets confusing.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
Well, everybody has their own way of judging the relative merits...

I suppose... but IMO, I think kill ratios are kind of useless for policy purposes. Vietnam should have taught us that for each "enemy" we kill, there are ten more ready to die.
Looks like the "fact" you're repeating over and over is in question. Which, judging from other people who keep clinging to the AWOL claim, will lead you to making more personal attacks, innuendos and other slanders on both the President and anyone who questions your viewpoints.
BTW: I don't troll. When I call someone a liar, it is because I believe he is a liar, not out of some childish attempt to get attention. But hey, the accusation irritated me enough to point that out, so you probably consider that a success, right?
You, on the other hand, appear to be quite enamoured to agitprop and flashy claims (like, say, your fancy little banners.) Something trolls like to use to get reactions from people.
