    What stereotypes? What mocking?

Are you kidding me?! For all the Euro's talk about Texas, you sure are bad at picking up its stereotypes!

Hank, Boomhauer, Dale, and Bill standing in an alley all day drinking beer. Hank being gung ho about 'propane and propane accesories'. Dale being the paranoid UN black helicopters are coming guy. All of these little quibbles are mocked incessantly.

Khan is the best stereotype of an Asian father (and makes the show sometimes ).

Peggy Hill annoys the Hell out of me... well that just shows they made a good character .

King of the Hill is great.

It's not haha funny most of the time, but I find it very amusing.

The propane thing I guess is a reference to Texas obsession with BBQ'ing- you know grillin' meat outside on a grill. And it's a fairly uninteresting job that Hank makes into something great or important. And it's funny how his whole life revolves around that.

Although if you seen the episode where he first got the job, he used to sell pants .

Futurama is good. I just don't like all the characters. Fry and Bender are the best, the other characters I don't like that much. Leela is Okay though.

Simpsons was always great, but I do miss Phil Hartman's characters. I was always a big fan of his, he will be missed. rip. What hurt the simpsons was bringing in too many celebrities, and trying to write a show revolving around the celebrity. That's no way to write a show. Though I did enjoy the Behind the Music spoof where they made fun of themselves bringing in celebrity after celebrity

BTW the sister in family guy is not smart. There are no smart people in that family. At least I don't think she's smart. She is kind of geeky, but tries real hard to be popular, unlike Lisa Simpson who makes no effort to be popular (except in that one episode when they go on vacation)

As for characters in Family Guy- you guys are forgetting Brian (the talking dog). He's one of my favourite characters besides Stewie of course. And of course Peter is great. The son is okay- he's dopey, he's not an outlaw type like Bart. So the show doesn't revolve around him like the Simpson's do around Bart (although after the first few seasons the show revolved around Homer)

You forgot to talk about South Park, the best animated comedy ever .

          South park

I like some of the stuff they do, but some of the stuff is just stupid.

I had to draw the line with Terrance and Philip

There are a few redeeming moments of South Park, but not enough to make it spectacular. I consider it regular comedy material, and it is nothing special. Not something like Family Guy, which stands out in the crowd.

Well on the basis of this thread I *cough cough* obtained a couple of episodes, and I have to say if these are are representative then this series is easily up there with the Simpsons. Shame it isn't on UK terrestial as far as i can tell. Stewie is hilarious I actually laughed out loud watching it in front of computer so loud that my housemates rushed in and we all watched again. Class show

As for ranking of the cartoons mentioned here.

                  1. Simpsons - just for all those years of timeless fun, but 2. could take over if other episodes are as good.

                  2. Family Guy

3 Futurama - Bender makes the show, and the pop culture references are great

Then there's a big blank gap, and then South park and King of the Hill move in. We're talking less than a laugh per episode here. Some of the very early south park is good, but it got old very fast.

South Park is awesome... there's a reason family guy got cancelled... IT WAS LAME!

King of the Hill is stupid, too...

                    1. South Park
                    2. Simpsons
                    3. Futurama

Simpsons hasn't been funny in a long time, while South Park keeps getting better and better.

Well, if we're going to rank them, I'll go by a 100-pt scale:

Ed, Edd, n Eddy - 96. Awesome humour value, even family friendly if you need so. But most importantly, probably a classic. ( :Pride: )
The Simpsons - 89. They were good at the beginning, but now they just suck.
Family Guy - 84. Great humour value. Something you can watch again and again.
Futurama - 80. It's a real tough decision; storyline or cheap jokes? I have to go with cheap jokes though, FG just makes me fall out of the seat
King of the Hill - 60. That's the big drop. Then again, there are even more unbelievable horrors below, such as...
South Park - 30. 29 of the points are for the show's well rehearsal in toilet humour, and the one point is for socially redeeming moments that come from it (read: where they bash celebrities.)

people who don't understand the sly satire of South Park generally dismiss it as "toilet humor"...

Thank you Sava... South Park has wonderful satire. In fact many critics when reviewing the movie were shocked. They thought it was a potty mouthed toilet humor, but on seeing it were amazed (and amused) by the satire of America.

That happens on just about every show... it's satarizing something or other. Skewering someone or something.

                            Ranking wise:

                            South Park - 92
                            Simpsons - 87
                            Family Guy - 80
                            King of the Hill 79
                            Futurama 70
