Sava: you do have the freedom to change it, you just don't have the ability. Just like a mute person has freedom of speech, but they still can't talk.

Plus, just because only certain people run doesn't mean it isn't a democracy. ANYONE (within the constitutional limits, which do NOT include wealth or race, and don't count) can run; however, most won't win. You have the right to run for president, not the right to be president.

What you are complaining about is our society.

        Yeah...

for future reference though VetLegion, I'm just trolling... don't take what I say too seriously. Plus, my grandmother was a Croat. The same Balkan blood pumps through our veins.

I'd say the consensus so far is "how should we know?"

Rarely has Apolyton been so united in its lack of opinion.

Some cry `Allah O Akbar` in the street. And some carry Allah in their heart.

ummmm... I don't anything wrong with my analogy

I'm illustrating the difference between freedom and ability

anyone remember the scene in Life of Brian, where they're arguing over whether or not men should have the right to have babies?

You're illustrating something... although I'm in too much of a nice mood to tell you what.

I thought you were describing the american democracy (=rule of the people, demos)

Does not matter in the long run.

They provide you with sports, to vent your agression.

They provide you with internet boards, to vent your criticism.

So you can go out cleansened
                            and spend, spend, spend..

wow, Vetlegion summed up America perfectly.

The illusion of democracy, but as long as we get our britney spears, our sports, our movies, and reassurance from our government that "we're the good guys", we won't rise up and install a REAL democracy.
