Stupidest argument ever! Arrrgggghhhh. Just because someone points out a fault in a country does not mean they don't support the country!! Arrggghhh!!!
On topic: She is one person in one war. She doesn't deserve this much attention, whether she did what was said or not.
slowwhand, the country needs more people like dissident and less people like you. we only allow you to stay here for your comedic value which is fast diminishing.

For the second time in 24 hours, I see someone telling the Washington Post belongs to the liberal media.
Since I post here, I've always seen the Washington Post as being extremely supportive to Bush and his team, and I haven't seen any opposition from its part. Besides, it's DanS' favourite read, and I highly doubt Dan would read liberal media first, given his opinions. To me, the Washington Post has always been the serious news outlet from the right wing in the US, so I wonder why you consider it liberal (yeah, sure, they initiated the Watergate scandal...)
I can't wait to see you and other rightists whining about how liberal FOX is...
I didnt say the Washington Post is Liberal. Please feel free to underline where I said that.
What I was refering to are unfounded statements about how the incident was staged (with the customary subplots about what the government knew etc). Who do you think is replaying this same tired trash, the conservatives? The Dems are doing everything in their power to discredit the Bush administration and their handling of the war, and this is just another example of that.

It's a liberal paper.
There are very few conservative national news sources in the US. The Wall Street Journal being the best and most widely known.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
Cuba ehh? If I thought socialism really could work, I'd be there.
Slow? Don't you remember how made this post? I was a pro-war guy remember? I have been accused of being a huge conservative. I like Bill O' Reilly for crying out loud.
I'm not a liberal.
But I'm not some mindless conservative who believes everything the goverment tells them. But I'm also not a liberal who autmatically doesn't believe what republicans say. I gave the Bush administration the benefit of the doubt. Until they actually lied to me, I believed them.
But now they crossed the line. Between this and weapons of mass destruction I am pissed. Yes I am still glad Iraq is gone (although I think the U.N. should be running the peacekeeping- we aren't doing a good job peackeeping). We kicked some major ass, I have no regrets about that. Honestly I didn't support the war to get rid of WOMD. But the fact remains, that the Bush administration appears to have lied about that. Even though I didn't care about the WOMD, I don't appreciate the president lying blatantly like that.

You have to turn that around. Always assume politicians are lying, unless proven otherwise.
“Now we declare… that the law-making power or the first and real effective source of law is the people or the body of citizens or the prevailing part of the people according to its election or its will expressed in general convention by vote, commanding or deciding that something be done or omitted in regard to human civil acts under penalty or temporal punishment….” (Marsilius of Padua, „Defensor Pacis“, AD 1324)

Is it too much to ask that politicians don't lie to the public?
You can sure ask. It's just unrealistic.

DanS, yeel, thanks for the heads up. It sure is surprising to read that the Washington POst is liberal (it sure doesn't look like it from my perspective, but I trust you on this one)
