You're not to lead your ideological life by concrete posts, rather to choose to judge based on what you have been taught, influenced, currently accept as ideal and/or probable. The definition of ideologies often seem to hover around mean, median, or mode - oddly enough . Just try to judge each side by the same standard (both according to world definitions, or both according to theoretical definitions, or both to both - not a mismatch)

In short, we have no definition. It's of your own

          They could both exist concurrently.

In that case, take communism/fascism to be the interpretation of your choice.

Ok. Well let's take this example from the complex tangle of meat and neurons known as Thorn:

              True I'm anti-christian yes, but I'm far more anti-muslim

I'm sure you have gut inclinations of the same construct, not necessarily with the same two forces? If not - then abstain! So, which would you rather live in - a communist or fascist "state"?

Sure, but it varies. In my case - my "choice" was largely of human example on this earth; not proposed fantasy

                  Communism

Fascism is bad no matter what. Communism is only bad if a tyrant (Stalin) or a demogogue (Mao) take power.

I'd rather live in a facist society since the majority retain greater personal freedoms then in a communist society. Not to meantion the higher standards of living, greater employment opportunities, ability to travel, and do just about everything as long as your not a member of a minority group.

                      Fascism

I may be oppressed, but I have a nice life (points at quality of life (for non-jews) in Nazi Germany, then points at quality of life in USSR during the same time period).

Yes, but how is that better? If I was living well under a fascism, where a minority was being horribly oppressed (or even systematically slaughters), my material possessions would bring me no joy. At least under a brutal communism, I could be sure that the vast majority of us (excluding the Party higher-ups) were suffering together. And if it was a not-so-brutal communism, well then it'd just be all the better.

Well, I think some guys here have a quite romantic view on Nazi Germany. I think it is illusion to believe that all except Jews had a good live, every bit of political opposition could lead to prison, concentration camp or death. There are cases reported where people were sent into concentration camps for telling jokes about Hitler.

I really wouldn't care. I'd be in armed resistance against either, unless by some miracle of the sun coming up in the west, pigs and pink elephants flying around, etc., you had some hippie lovefest utopian do-your-own-thing communism that could be easily ignored.

why does noone say that I've doen this poll before?

I did it more generally, and most Americans said they prefer the ideological concept that fascism usually brings along to that of communism. That one scared me more than any Americanism I'd seen before
