Yeah, by nazi/communist do you mean what exactly?
If you mean fascist like in Nazi Germany, and communist like in East Germany after 45 I´d prefer the latter. While both were totalitarian regimes, chances to survive conflicts with the ruling forces were muuuuuch bigger under communist rule.
If you are rather after the Soviet Stalinist era, it would be too difficult to decide for me.Last edited by BeBMan; June 18, 2003, 16:14.Blah

Even though they'd both suck, I'll say communist, because then I'd at least have a pleasant ideology to fall back on. I'd feel too guilty to live well in a fascism. In communism, at least I can trick myself into believing I'm suffering for a noble cause."I wrote a song about dental floss but did anyone's teeth get cleaner?" -Frank Zappa

neither'There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.'"

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

In fascism, its a case of men oppressing men. With stalinism, its the other way round.
However, I take communism to mean the myriad different systems that come under that banner, from the perfect capitalist society, to the greatest amount of liberty in a society (a possible interpretation of the Mill Limit), to the ravages of Stalins purges."I work in IT so I'd be buggered without a computer" - Words of wisdom from Provost Harrison
