I fail to see any use for anger in the modern world. Anger makes me angry.

If we did away with laughter then the author of this thread would not be offended by my response to the thread.
"And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man." -- JFK Inaugural, 1961
"Extremism in the defense of liberty is not a vice." -- Barry Goldwater, 1964 GOP Nomination acceptance speech (not George W. Bush 40 years later...)

I have not been angry for up to 3 years now, I've reached some sort of understanding that allows me to to stay humble. I can remember all sorts of problems that would have annoyed me immensely.

            To me, anger is unnecessary.

I often have friends ask me how I manage to stay fine even if something bad happens in my life.

I try to describe it by using children. Why is it when when your own child lies to you to get out of being in trouble, you laugh. But when a friend lies to you, you get angry. I found that it is all about understanding - that is the key to a peaceful mind.

I believe the wisest would be the happiest.

Sometimes anger is needed. Rarely, but sometimes.

And why would it be needed?

Snoopy's point of view is crystalized in the french saying: "tout comprendre c'est tout pardoner"

to udnerstand everything is to forgive everything.

if you understand, you will forgive.

I dont agree with it. you can understand (forgive or not is your choice) but that doesnt make everything someone does either forgivable or always not a cuase to get angry.
                    IMHO

I see, so your forgiveness has to be backed up by your trust in God to handle everything in our universe, right?

When did God enter the scene?

I'm not sure what you mean but you cant simply forgive everything just cause you understand the why. Or not get angry at it.

Why would you not forgive or get angry? god has nothing to do with it, unless for you it does.
it's your personal values that direct it

Didn't Forgiveness come from God first?

If you believe in it then I guess it did come from him as far as you are concerned.

However I fail to see what this has to do with God?

Your point was that you dontget angry becuase you understand why the other peoples have done what the done.

I'm saying you can very well understand but that doesnt automatically means that you should be devoided from being angry if what they done warrants such emotion based on your personal values.
