You obviously don't know the definition of treason
Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.

Looks like someone forgot that you're supposed to punish people for things they do, not for things they say.*.

      *and are, and believe, etc.

Heck, I'd even teach CivNation as long as he wasn't out getting stoned with the disobedient children.

I thought Galloway was good for Undermining Labour

The Problem with the BNP is that on the surface they are a decent vaguely electable party and some people will subscribe to that, it is only when you read between the lines of thier material do you see what they Really stand for.

People usually choose the BNP either because they are not fully informed of them, or else they are wanting to protest to the local government - Niether is enough of a crime to be discriminated against tho.

Harmless. Fact is, crazy leftism is pretty much dead and no country in europe is likely to get a seriously left-wing government anytime soon.

Crazy righties of the cross-burning type, OTOH, are quite common. Chirac only got elected because he was running against a crazy righie.

I personally have seen BNP members throw petrol bombs. They are an ultra violent party who are desperately attempting a media makeover to achieve respectablity.

I think it is no coincidence that many forums recently have seen BNP supporters post and try to convey the impression to US posters that they are a right wing party. They are not. They are a party of racists and criminals.

              What's the coincidence?

That support for a reformed, respectable right-wing party is now growing?

Suppose though, some people want a reformed BNP that is respectable (I am by no means trying to imply this is the case, but suppose it were), how would that be different than what's going on right now? Whether or not this is a sincere effort, not all members of the BNP are going to be racist thugs (I hope), and even so, discriminating against racists is like trying to punish people for thought crimes. Do we really want that?

                  Well, the left-liberals seem to.

They stopped the BNP from making a speech in a northern constitutency.

Victor, what happens is that the BNP makes an inflamatory speech. At the same time "unknown white youths" charge through a minority area shouting racist insults and starting fights. The minorities react badly, as you'd expect fighting with "unknown white youths" and rioting, and the BNP says "see we told you they were dangerous, vote for us"

It's what happened at the Oldham riots recently. The police ban them from giving speeches because it's a threat to public safety.

Why don't they just arrest the 'unkown white youths' (i.e., the ones breaking the law), and not the people who are just yapping?

They do if they can catch them. The other thing is that because the BNP are such notorious racist scumbags any time they give a speech you get large numbers of anti nazi protesters. There's always trouble.

Boddington's will say it's not their fault. The police don't care who's fault it is, they just don't want to deal with huge fights and riots.

Victor, what happens is that the BNP makes an inflamatory speech
They were stopped from making the customary speech that all political parties make when they gain seats in an election.

So long as the speech didn't illegally inflame, then that is a contravention of free speech.

At the same time "unknown white youths" charge through a minority area shouting racist insults and starting fights. The minorities react badly, as you'd expect fighting with "unknown white youths" and rioting
The BNP has nothing to do with this.

                                "unknown white youths"
This is what we are fighting against Victor. The liberal media in this country has portrayed non-Whites as victims and nothing but.

                                The truth is the opposite.

Minorities commit more crimes. Minorities commit more inter-racial crimes. Yet it is the whites' fault.

The other thing is that because the BNP are such notorious racist scumbags any time they give a speech you get large numbers of anti nazi protesters. There's always trouble.
                                For ****'s sake.

                                From the BNP's site:

Racist attacks are wrong, plain and simple. The majority of racist attacks in this country are committed against white British people, contrary to the image that the anti-British mass media portray. If a race-attack takes place, and the victim is black or Asian, the result is an endless media circus, howls of condemnation against the perpetrators, and more calls for repressive crusades against supposed ‘racism’. If a race-attack takes place, and the victim is white, the result is usually total silence. No condemnation, no media fanfare, total silence. By contrast, the BNP condemns all racial attacks, including those on non-whites. It is not the fault of individuals that they are in our country, and the answer to the problems caused by mass immigration must be solved by democratic political change, not by violence."

Bods will say that people reacting to bunch of Nazis calling them scum and telling them to go home is far worse than the original intimidation
Restricting free and legal speech is far worse than a riot. I'd rather have riots than a liberal dictatorship - wouldn't you?

                                Victor

Most of the comments here are due to the BNP being demonised is all the popular press, especially the Guardian (which Mike reads).
