I have a question about the leaders. I know the order is

    Lenin
    Stalin
    Kruschev
    Brezhnev
    Andropov
    (somebody was here)
    Gorbachev

Who was the guy I missed, and also what years were each of them the leader?

I believe the guy you missed was Cherneko (spelling is off, sorry).

As for the years, you can look it up on google .

Chernenko, or, if you need the Russian spelling, ×åðíåíêî.

I'd be shot well in advance for other things that didn't involve mispelling the General Secretary's name .

No doubt. Too bad that you never visited the Soviet Union.

Here's another question: Why did Ulyanov change his name? I know that Stalin means "steel", but what does Lenin mean?

"Joe Steel"... It's a tad corny, when you anglocise it like that.

Thanks Imran. I have 30 minutes to study for 2 exams, so any time saving is appreciated.
