You can see Canada Tower and some of the other Docklands skyscrapers (HSBC and Citigroup) from near my home. Although from this distance they aren't very big to look at.
One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.

I drew a simple paint sketch to represent how would that look like, following the Parisian model. and yes, I know that the Parisian skyscraper neighbourhood is rather small.

          Because they're ugly.
          that's one of the reasons.
oslo has only two skyscrapers (or high-rises, what's the definition? they're about 110 m) in the city centre. they look totally out of place and should be torn down

It is a skyscraper, they just had to build a small one because "the view of the cathedral must not be obstructed"
            -
If only they'd make me mayor, I'd burn the whole city down and then rebuild it in a Albert-Speer-meets-Hongkong style

Oi mate, I'm not religious, far from, but don't even think of touching our beloved Cathedral !!
They've taken down enough as it is, just to please a couple politicians and rich b*stards...

I would say skyscrapers are 40+ or 50+ stories. 150m+. The Empire State Building is 381 meters. Using these criteria, there are 186 such skyscrapers in New York City.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Given the Hell on earth that is the city of Colon, well...

Trust me when I say that most of the buildindings you see there have 20-30% occupancy at best, yet they report profits...

Costa Rica is more legal.. San Jose Skyline:

For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

San Jose my butt! That is one measly building!

I found a great site about Skyscrappers (they define them as buildings over 90 Meters tall), and they rankedf Skylines!

Panama City came in at 36th! It has 49 buildings over 90 meters, more than London, Tel Aviv, Detroit, Maimi and others.

As for the cities with the most buildings over 90 meters:

                              1.NYC, 783
                              2. Hong Kong, 656
                              3.Chicago, 306
                              4.Shanghai, 298
                              5. Tokyo, 269.

Tokyo scores higher than Shanghai in the skyline poll, so the ranking is just not about numbers, but I guess they also take inot account the relative heights.\

Here is the site: great stuff!

I think that's because 30+ floors buildings in Mexico are banned due to the earthquakes, but I'm not sure.
Down here we don't have buildings over than 50 floors due to the architectural regulations and to the earthquakes measures.
