Translation: "I've always detested beauty".
That one made my side split with so much laughter.
It's not beauty, it's terrible. The only thing Apple has going for it is a "clean" look, but the faux-interlacing and abused alpha blending are awful. Not to mention the complete stupidity of having 3 colored circles in the corner of each window.
At least MS knows enough to attach an icon to them so it's more intuitive what they do without having to mouseover.
It's the little things that create beauty.

Never was a truer word spoken. Let the pictures speak for themselves.
*yawn*
There is a difference between professionalism in XP and 2000, and a child toyish look in Mac OS.
Some find beauty in professionalism, rather than a OS famous for running Kid Pix.
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

The section below your belly should be quite beautiful then, Glonkyboy.
What are we, in third grade? At least be funny with pathetic insults.

That's because by 7th/8th grade you were hoping that with all the cracks about d!cksize your friends would whip it out and you could get a nice look.

It doesn't look like that. Yeah, I know. Sounds odd, but it doesn't.

I find advance-signals with arrows more intuitive than a simple green flashing circle.
And this is a redherring. I'm not saying they're confusing, just less intuitive (needlessly so).
The three lights are more intuitive anyway, they change depending on what will happen when you press them.
Did you even think about this before you said it?
You honestly think a little colored circle is more intuitive than a box with a giant X in it?

Red means stop - you can't get any more intuitive than that.
Anyway, I'm not going to ruin a picture thread by explaining to you how easy it is for all but complete mental defectives to know what is going on in either system.
But wait, I might forget that the big green "X" is Excel.
