The reason ours look so good is that we're using macs.

        Mac sucks.
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

Depends what program you use to shrink the images. My desktop is 1024x768, but I use IrfanView to shrink it to 800x600, and it comes out clearly.

My desktop used to be cluttered since I use it as the default downloading directory, and keep files I want to have in immediate reach on it.

But I'm now making efforts to keep it at a constant size.

Azazel - you have 3 links to the same programs: on your desktop, on your quick launch, and in your start menu.

Why do you keep all 3 copies of the links?

The only thing I have copied twice is Internet explorer which remains both on my desktop (default) and in the launch bar. I would remove the useless desktop link, but i've grown used to it

This is all fine and dandy, but how about a thread posting pics of ACTUAL desktops...

Let's see all the pooter stands/desks/tables out there and let's see the place where all of you sit down to come to Apolyton.

                      Now, that would be interesting.

vee, no cam there for that purpose, alas. btw, I just found that messy IE shortcut can be removed as well

yeah, my idea would require a cam, but it would be interesting

has been done before, most people abused it for showing off how geeky they actually look in front of their machines
