Near Stuttgart, we enjoy eating Spätzle which are a local rather rough and protein-heavy pasta. It's pretty good, but it gets better when the recipe includes cheese (which results in Kässpätzle). Kässpätzle are often eaten with roasted onions, and makes for a good yet fat meal.

Also, another typical Swab meal is the Maultaschen, a kind of big ravioli with spinash, pork and turkey, which is generally cooked on steam. It's also a solid meal, both in terms of taste and calories

I cannot think of any typical meal from the surroundings of Paris, maybe because I take them for granted and don't know they are specific...

yum yum (note:I think this is seal meat, I'll ask my friend when he comes over he would know)

              Its from the oil revenues.
and we have grocery stores too, if we didnt I would refuse to live here. I could also go on forever about how diverese Alaska is and the fact that I hate the part Im in now but love other parts of the state. The geography is probably more diverse than the entire lower 48.

edit: it is actually maktak (muck-tuk), known in English as whale meat

In China, food, like languages, is regional.

Shanghai has its own cuisine (and language). In general, Shanghai food is quite sweet, and almost never spicey. It's also rather oily. Some of it is delicious, some less so. Thank heavens food from other regions (Xinjiang! Xinjiang!) is readily available.

Scrumpy is great. That normal fizzy cider piss they sell in pubs (to *End is Forever*) is horrible.

Real scrumpy is quite rare. Adding the dead pig for flavour is frowned upon by HM health inspectors. It's not even a food.

Cheddar, on the other hand, is both a food and a place(soaks up all that acid in scrumpy).
