Hey Veda, have you read the actual court decision? That is the most unconvincing, insincere opinion ever written.

I have read the actual court decision; it is kinda required in our Con Law class in Law School, and I can fully say that you are totally full of ****. If anything the dissents are incredibly unconvincing and insincere, designed simply so their guy Gore could try one more time to steal the election.

When seven justices agree that there were great civil rights problems with the recount and then two of those justices (the Democrats) believe that those massive problems could be fixed in a WEEK, they are totally deluding themselves.

Try reading the opinion before spouting off please.

I see you read the Fox News edition of the opinion. Even Richard Posner (the conservative/libertarian chief justice of the US 7th Circuit Court of Appeals) in his book on the subject said the reasoning in the majority decision was bogus. He justified the decision on the grounds that a quick decision based on any reason was necessary.

By the way, can you think of any other decision where Rehnquist, Scalia, or Thomas has been concerned about equal protection? Funny how they only worry about equal protection for cracker votes.

And whatever happened to states' rights? I though conservatives loved states' rights - and the states get to set their own elections law. Usually, Scalia and Co. argue that federal courts lack the competency to adjudicate state law disputes. But it just goes to show how dishonest conservative judges are.

How come the only time we hear about states' rights is when a state wants to cheat someone out of overtime, or screw over a minority? Medical marijuana? Assisted suicide? Emission controls? States have no rights there apparently.

Bush v. Gore is just another sad exaple of conservatives abandoning their own ostensible philosophy on federalism when it comes to furthering their other ideological ends.

What law school did you go to again?

Of course it didn't help that the Supremes stopped the recount right as it started.

Uh, I did. The rest of my response to you may be found on Run DMC's Greatest Hits, track three (Beats to the Rhyme), at about 2:36. Enjoy.

        Check this out.

And yes Ming, Texas makes a mean beer. I'm especially partial to Fat Tire - and I used to love Celis. I also drank my share of Lone Star when I was a kid.

A lot of people won't be able to remember who it hurts until several days into the boycott.
