Yeh this has probably been discussed already but I just saw the movie the other week and there is always room for one more thread.
Anyone else think that the Matrix 2 was just a way-too-long computer-gizmo-using fight scene orgy? Useless things like story-line and good actiing seem to have fallen off the back of the truck when they made this movie thats for sure. As a fan of Matrix 1 it made me cry to see this tacked on piece of digital fluff masquerade as a sequel to a great movie.
The movie is non-sensical and there are too many threads which lead either nowhere, or else nowhere comprehensible. The "climax" when Colonel Sanders gives his monologue is pretty weird and I walked out scratching my head. There is a thin line between being cutting-edge, different and edgy, and being just plain so stupid that people cannot understand anything.
I give the Matrix 2:
5 out of 5 for special effects
1 out of 5 for story
Verdict: Worth seeing but not a classic, and nowhere near as good as the first.
