  • Why was this thread bumped?

I remember it dropped off the page at least a month ago...

    • it was bumped twice.

once for the fact that she skipped her graduation.
twice for the fact that her invitation to harvard was rescinded.

      • **** me! Imagine what I could do with 2.7 million. Put that in a modest savings account ( say 3.95% apr ) then that's 106,650 per annum! Even after you change it from dollars into real money and deduct income tax that's still a fair £40,000 a year or thereabouts.

I realise she's probably accustomed to a 'jewish princess' standard of upbringing what with her father being a superior court judge but speaking personally I could like VERY comfortably with an income of $40,000 a year for which I didn't have to work.

I should have probably got Proximae Acessit. I wonder if I could sue my school. Hmmm....

        • Comfortably? Hell, I would feel like a KING with that kind of annual income!

          • Heh...I had forgotten that lil' detail ('bout daddy being a Superior Court Judge)....but I'm sure that didn't have anything to do with the decision coming down in her favor, either, cos you know, the system doesn't work that way....

(and daddy wouldl never call in any favors to ensure his little girl got her way....nope....not even concievable)

            • Precisely my point. And here's this girl demanding she gets the equivalent of £40,000 pa for... what? Because she didn't get to be valedictorian? Oh no... wait... she DID. She wants it because someone else got to have a little bit of recognition as well. If I understand what I've skimmed over in the above correctly she had already been accepted to Harvard before this whole incident. She had nothing to gain from it other than the satisfaction of robbing another girl of a silly little title and of course the $2.7 she didn't earn.

Please tell me she lost the case.

Anyone remember the story about some actress ( Michelle Pfeiffer? ) trying to sue an aerial photographer who took 20,000 shots of the coastline to show errosion ( 1 of which, shock horror, contained her house ) for $6 Million.

Are all Americans millionaires or something? Shouldn't there be a rule whereby a judge can decide prior to trial whether the compensation demanded is SANE?

              • Expecting humans to be sane, or even simply intelligent, is like expecting the sun not to rise.

I wish we didn't have to give tests at all and could just grade the students on how good we think they are.
The debate teachers at my school do that. The principal is trying to get rid of the older one even though he's also the computer science teacher.
