We stopped in Coventry for the night. Went and saw the bombed-out cathedral, and the new one, and then it was to the hotel, out the next morning. Didn't see much of the town itself, but I've no interest in going again.

Are there any of the huge Victorian estates open for touring outside of London?

      Loads.

Get a national trust guide when you get to London, you can be in the most grimy northern industrial area and round the corner is some huge mansion.
Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.

How long would it take to get to Southampton from London?

              Probably closer to 2 hours.

I lived in Southampton for 3 years while at Uni (Dr.Spike still lives there - maybe PM him about it) and I honestly can't recommend it. I thought it was a bit of a ****hole.

If you want to go down to that area because you're interested in the Navy then Portsmouth would be better than Southampton.

The new Forest is a lovely part of the world. Poole which is near there is a nice town

Another for the London Eye. On a good day, the views are excellent, try to book in advance to avoid the queues though.

Get hold of a copy of Time Out which lists pretty much everything going on for the week ahead (available from any newsagent/paper stall in London). It comes out each Tuesday. (You might also try their website http://www.timeout.com/london/).

I would go see this marvel of English engineering:

                      The Millennium Bridge

Truly, London Bridges are falling down

                      Monkey!!!

Being a Londoner myself I know all there is to know about this great city.

I bet I know more about the London borough of Bromley than you though.

But then that is not really a major acheivement.
One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.

Yep, we all know why that might be...

To be fair, I have been through it a few times.

There's some Torture museum I went to that was pretty interesting in London.
