UR, shut up. I never implied any of that at all! YOU WANT A CORRUPT MAFIA ORGANIZATION LIKE THE UN RUNNING A COUNTRY? What I say to that is this: You are the one with a sad, obsolete, and inherently uninformed attitude.
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

Quit picking on Fez, Sava is the one who began the attacks.

I hate the UN too, and to have those idiots running anything would be detremental to the all. Heck, look what the UN has gotten us to thus far.

If the UN were to run a country I am sure it would end up like their meetings; treat everyone like crap so they go out on strike, whine when they do, and then riot because you are so rich, fat, and lazy that you just don't know waht out to do... Imagine what kind of riots we would see in Iraq if the UN were in control... Really, Sava, if the UN got involved it really would be the US doing anything anyway... So, best to leave the UN's inefficiency out of that which already exists.

Kofi Annan gets paid more than the US President. Nobody in the UN bureaucracy of corruption gets paid less than $100,000 annually.

Is this really the organization you want running a country?

Fez: That's the average salary of the 3,600 UN-workers in New York City. As you might, or might not, know quite often around half has a salary below the average.

If you are talking about the 3,600 UN workers in New York City, that is the perfect reason why the UN should not get involved. Average globally or not, it is still quite depressing. But who you should look at is Kofi Annan. If I remember correctly the US President's salary is $250,000. Kofi Annan's is perhaps triple or quadruple that.

                  1. That's patently false. The UN Sec Gen makes $227,253/year. Bush gets paid $400,000 (source: http://www.pbs.org/wnet/un/life/job.html). Also, you can check this link (http://www.un.org/Depts/OHRM/salarie...alaries/gs.htm) to see what salaries are at the UN. Obviously, most people in the UN make less than $100,000 per year.

                  2. Fez, you favor corporatism and want corporations to run the state. Any clue as to how much most CEOs, CFOs, VPs, etc. make?

I'm not saying the UN is an efficient organization by any means, but if you're going to put forth an arguement, at least some part of it should be correct.

A couple of years ago it was 50% more than (then) president Clinton. The issue is not (for me) if they are overpayed or not. The issue is that you invent or exaggerate facts to make a point.

Well I do concede on the area of salaries. But the UN is not an efficient organization and should not be placed in charge of any country.

I don't invent or exaggerate anything. I just read things from some sources that may be mistaken.

Hey Kontiki, your stupid misquotes of me in your signature should be removed. They really aren't relevant to each other.

Fez: Because I don't support some corrupt politician's agenda, I'm not worthy to be an American? Sorry Fez, but your ridiculiously stupid statement shows the full extent of how much you don't understand America and what it is like to be an American. You should read the US constitution and brush up on the first amendment. Perhaps watching the goose-stepping Spanish and various South American militaries has racked your brain. I challenge you to ask any freedom-loving American whether or not I should have the right to criticize my government.

Japher: What attacks? Fez isn't American. Fez wants the US do to the work in Iraq, not the UN. Where is the attack? Where did I go wrong? I stated two facts. I can't be held responsible for whatever conclusions you draw from it. You really need to take your foot out of your mouth. The UN shouldn't be running things because they are inept, yet the US does everything in the UN? Maybe you should proofread your posts to avoid further "foot in mouth" syndrome.
To us, it is the BEAST.
