Actually, from Fez' point of view, this kinda makes sense. He probably thinks something like:Hitler was a leftist.
Weak government = freedom = right-wing government
Strong government = oppression = left-wing government
And if I'm not mistaken the nazis had a large influence both in the social and economic sphere, so in his mind they were probably leftists.Comment

Maniac.. for a long time I was a right-wing authoritarian. Some may allege I am the same because I want tougher controls in some areas.. but I am actually more a center-right wing moderate.. with some elements of right-wing conservative views.
The Nazis had big parts in the economy and that is a big negative. And there treatment of minorities, gays, and jews was downright despicable.

Probably our differences lie in the definition of "Civil Services". For me for example, that includes, public transport, education, health care, antitrust laws, environmentalist- and social-protective laws... You probably want to leave all that to the market. Which makes you very right-wing in the eyes of many people, though you yourself may consider those opinions centrist.

The extreme left and the extreme right are, IMO, have more in common than one would expect, so it's not suprising that one might confuse one with the other. (And sometimes people go so far to one extreme, they come out the other side... )
