Big deal! I once was chased up a tree by a large black bear. The damn thing climbed up after me too. The very top branch of the tree was tickling my nose, and I could count the freckles on his nostrils. Now that's somthing to be frightened of. But a squirell?

Yes. I was hiking in the backwoods near Banff and had set up a camp for the evening when this bear came along and helped himself to my food. I moved off a short way, and after he had his fill, he started coming towards me. I figured if I made like a bear cub and climbed the tree beside me, he might leave me alone.Originally posted by Fez

Wrong! He followed up behind me, but after yelling for help and trying to kick him in the snout he finaly decided to leave me alone. In retrospect, I don't think he meant me any harm, I think he was just having fun by playing "Let's scare the tourist." He played the game very, very well.

Fez let me get something clear. Did you run from, well how to say it, a squirell? Squrells are like Chip and Dale, aren't they? Mostly very sharp teeth and claws.
If it has rocket launcher I would see it as clear defense. Just be sure that PETA wont see result of your defense.
