NEWS FLASH
This is Amanda Arkland reporting from Downtown Catherin on the Border with Boondi Land.
Some time this morning explosions rocked the Shopping Precint, fortunalty the shops were still closed and only a few staff are reported lost. Though there are many still unaccounted for. The rubble is metres high where the Multi storey Carpark and office block once stood.
Explosions continued throughout the morning till late this afternoon. The Military has cordoned off the town and are beginning mass evacuations. All roads leading to the south have been closed as Boondi Artillery appears to be the culprit. No reason for the attack has been given but the area has long been in dispute with Boondi as to where the actual border lies.
The Government is currently trying to contact the Boondi government but all attempts have so far failed. No movement has occured towards our borders and the artillery has now gone quiet.
The Defence Minister stated that an emergency meeting of the government is underway and did state before leaving for the meeting that if Boondi failed to respond peacefully within 24 hours, a state of war would exist between our two nations.
This Amanda Arkland, signing off, in a stressful downtown area.
