  • Expelling Enemy Units

I give up. I just refound CTP and now I know why I put it down. I do NOT know how to expel enemy military units. I know how to request removal or expel diplomats etc. I don't know how the "BOOT" icon works in the unit action screen under the city screen. Any clues? Thanks

You can only use the "boot" icon by using it from a unit next to the unit you want to expel, and only if the enemy unit is a civilian, ie. settler, diplomat, empathic diplomat, slaver etc.
To get rid of enemy military, you must get the other civilsation to sign a withdrawal agreement, which makes them promise to remove thier units from your territory. If they keep wandering back again, download Dale's withdraw script, which forces them to withdraw when they have signed the treaty.

Glad to see you got your answer Rocket - we do try to please ...

(Rocket misposted this query over in Civ2-General and I suggested he would get a better response here - thanks Wombat)

Will have to check it out. I wasn't playing that close of attention as to the units the AI was expelling. Thanks

You could make a little mod. Open the unit.txt in the ..\ctp2_data\default\gamedata\ folder and add to every unit that you whish to expell the line:

          CanBeExpelled

Use the UNIT_ABOLITIONIST as an example. This unit also contains the line:

          Civilian

But this line is not necessary for military units.

I like that signature! I take it you're one of the CIV2 succession gamers, then?
