    Viking News

The English forces continue to reign havoc on the Viking nation as more troops stormed across the borders towards major Viking Cities. In a public address to his own people last night Frazer said that it was time for the Vikings to prepare for the worst. The Enemy are already at the gates of the small town of Odense and the City of Haldir off the northern cost has been bombarded from the sea. A report of a battalion, consisting of 9 units of tanks and possibly marines heading directly in the direction of Haldir. It is expected that Odense and Haldir will be occupied by the English in the next 24 hours.

Frazer told the loyal Citizens of these Cities that they would never be forgotten and that war will rage until either Trodhiem falls or the Vikings are free once more.

Some reports suggest a communication from the English offered peace settlement that would deprive the Vikings of most of their most fertile farm lands and historic Cities. This was thought to be rejected out of hand by the Viking leadership or thought it a joke and an insult to our pride and our Ancestors.

Frazer thanked the nations who have offered support and aid, but stressed the enormity of the cries facing the Vikings. The Vikings have been the quietest and most peaceful nation despite their historic reputation and now our whole way of life is under threat and may be wiped out completely within 10 turns.

      Taosoich's Office.

By the pre-emptive deployment an entire Carrier Fleet, a costly endeavour for a poor and weak nation like Ireland, we have achieved more than than all the 'hot air' issued by the outraged 'mighty nations' of this World.

To accuse the IFS of ignoring it's obligations is utterlly unjust. What would the you have had us do without betrayal of our Treaties? Maybe such documents are signed more lightly in other nations?

The Chairman declared a cease fire. The generals retorted that It would be insane to declare a cease fire now, as thier estimates place the length to complete execution of justice no less than 15 turns.

Regardless the Chairman ordered the cease fire. Unfortunately the chain of command did not communicate the orders to the front, in time and several military actions were taken.

The cease fire did not go over well in Britain, in fact protests and riots were held, calling the Chairman a French lackey.

We applaud the English actions in declaring a ceasefire and hope peace will come between these two troubled nations. We urge the English to show mercy on their neigbours and consider a complete withdrawal of English troops from Viking soil.

Turn resent to Luk and I sent one to Klair as well.

The previous weeks news just reached the capital city of Germany this afternoon. President Ed had the following statements:

"The people of Germany pray for the families in Norway. Such destruction and devistation was uncalled for, and further, how can the Irish navy stand by and watch the English fall, then claim to be allied with them? If the Germans pledge an alliance with the Viking nation, you can be damn sure we won't stand by and watch their destruction! Even worse, the Irish PREVENTED others from defending the Vikings. From where I stand, it would seem the Irish leaders favor England. The fighting seems to come to a hault for now, but I feel many details are yet to be worked out. The German Defence minister has requested that the current forces be tripled, with the training to began today. For as most of the world stood by and watched the English murder Viking citizens, I have realized that Germany could have been the victim, and might be the next time. I am making a call tonight for all world leaders to DEMAND that retrabution be paid from England, for what has he learned? Nothing! He has learned that there is no punishment if he takes only a few cities at a time, or if he picks on the weaker nations. Something must stop this from happening again!!!! Stand up for what is right!!! Do the right thing!!!!"

The IFS Foreign Ministry requested our Ambassador in Berlin to hand over a formal letter of protest at the appalling biased reporting in the German State Newspaper. This 'Scandal Sheet' that masquerades as a serious Journal covering International News has shown itself to be the mouthpiece of the dishonest German regime. We warn the World that they take this tool of the German Propaganda Department seriously at their peril!

Several in England were appalled concerning the latest issue of the Dutcheese reporter, in fact a charge of libel was brought before the English courts, however the case was thrown out.

The Judge stated that, " For a charge of Libel, to be proven a reasonable person must believe that the statements therein could have possibly happened." He didn't go into detail on particular sections stating, " The entire paper was more fiction than anything else."

It was later discovered that the party who brought the charge forward was merely trying increase readership of the reporter. In fact the paper's subscription levels have tripled since it left the realm of fact.

Hello, Sophanthro, head of the English.

Don of Canada, Ed of Germany, Luk of Slav, Slamp of the Mayans and Klair head of France have a common request:

                        - English must leave Viking territory before turn 102.
                        - English must leave Viking cities before turn 99.
                        - English must pay 500 Gold to the Viking's for each city attacked before turn 106
                        - English must pay 1000 Gold to Viking's for each city taken (You could give advances instead of gold) before turn 109.

If the English government will not accept this proposal by turn 98, we will then put in place an trade embargo. All nations will then cease any commerce with the English. Secondly all nations will then engage in pirating of all English trade routes.
If the English decide not to accept this proposal by turn 101, we will then commence bombardment of English cities.

If we don't receive any answer, it means that you don't accept this request.

                        Regards,

                        Signed by
Don, Ed, Luk, Slamp and Klair

It's seems every nation has the time to file a complaint against England. But these same nations are unable to attend to matters of state, such as passing on thier turns, how long can these nations neglect their people in pursuit of a matter which can not benefit thier people.

It is also of note that the government of England has made an equitable agreement with the government of Vikland. Even so the government of England has met and will give thier response when their turn arrives.

                                "not benefit thier people."

MY GOD MAN, you don't know what your saying. The Canadian newspaper industry is booming since the English/Viking incident. Traditional newspaper sales have soared and have actually surpassed the sales of the esteemed National Enquirer. Canada's No#1 selling newspaper. People also have actually stopped watching that high quality show "Survivors" and are reading the Dutcheese Reporter. Moral has never been higher. Beer sales are up too, which is very important you know.

Anyway I think I will move to Poland and move in with Luk so that I can watch over him and make sure he plays his turns. Of course I'm assuming that the turn is sitting with Luk, Sorry Luk if I'm wrong.

Turn 96 was sent to Luk on Mon, 4 Sep 2000. I will once again resend the turn to Luk.
