Long has the suffering of the Norse poor and Comrades of the Viking nation, gone unappeased. No longer. The rights of humanity transcends all other rights.

The peace loving people of England, were at first loathe to attack their brethren in the Viking territory. But when given first hand accounts of the suffering in Norway, they at first cried pitiously and then were aroused to rightious ire. The truth was clear, the brief horrors of war were nothing compared to the long agony of oppression and wage slavery.

The people of Vikland will be free. The clergy there, who long kept the people in submission thru the lies of Valhala; and disgusting propaganda that those who suffer for the good of Norway will be rewarded hereafter in Valhala. Has enraptured many a poor soul of Norway. It will no longer be tolerated. As the Viking nobility and clergy prey upon there own people and do to them all manner of evil. The crimes in Norway must be brought to justice.

    Secretary of the Interior

Frazer of the Vikings made the following statement today:

It seems our former allies the English under the guidance of their most ambitious leader Chairman Sophanthro claiming to be the 'Guardian of the Poor and Downtrodden' has declared war upon the Viking nation.

His lies about the state of the Viking nation are entirely fabricated to justify his policy of expansion. If the Vikings are the weakest military nation this is only because of our peaceful nature, preferring to spend public money on coliseums, theatres and hospitals instead of weapons of war.

The contentment of the Norse has now been disturbed by the evil Mister Sophanthro, we shall give lie to his accusations of public discontent by our stoic defence of the idyllic nation of the Vikings. The English may have the advantage when it comes to sheer power but win or lose they will suffer at our hands.

On hearing the news the best Viking bard sang to me,

I will not cease from Mental Fight
Nor shall my Sword sleep in my hand
      Till I have rid Sohphanthro
From England's green and pleasant land

The Head of Slav Confederate had called Supreme Council. Supreme Council which includes Head, President and Prime Minister of Slav Confederate has no official powerm but is the forum where the 3 mightest men in SC can share their opinions. The Supreme Commander of Joint Staff of National Military Forces was the guest in Kreml, Moscow today. They debated long time in full secrecy, but and there was no official statement. The Slav Goverment will for sure react at English agression, but the question is how strong it will be.

The Minister of National Defense ddeclared that he will be influence Prime Minister to strenghten Slav Army. For today Many Slav cities are producing Naval, Air and Panzer units which will be very helpful in every crisis.

            OFFICIAL IFS POLICY STATEMENT

War between the English and Viking nations is a great sadness to be inflicted upon the entire World but places Ireland in a uniquely difficult position. As formal Allies of both nations it is impossible for us to adopt other than a policy of strict neutrality but we are determined that this unfortunate incident should not spread.

To ensure the containment of this conflict elements of the IFS Navy have been placed in holding stations off the Viking coast. This is purely a policing measure to prevent 'third party' involvement that could escalate a minor border dispute into a potential World War.

Of particular concern is possible German involvement and in order to remind them of the ill wisdom of any such intervention a detachment from IFS Marine Corps escorted by Carrier Group No.3 is on patrol just outside German territorial waters.

It is the earnest hope of the Irish Government that this dispute can be brought to a rapid conclusion by negotiation between the parties concerned. We are simply pleased that substantial Irish Navy forces were on exercise in the area so as to be able to take up station so quickly upon the outbreak of hostilities.

              GERMAN WORLD REPORT

(**first I'd like to say I have just discovered this thread today...I never knew of it, nobody mentioned it from the old thread that I saw)

German officials were busy in short notice meetings the past two days, looking into the facts of the conflict along an English/Viking border. Unfortunatly, not many facts have been revealed yet.

Late last night, the Minister of Defence and top Generals were meeting with President Ed about the Irish statement of the Irish navy patrolling close to German land.

President Ed released this statement as he stepped out of his office briefly, "We are sad to see the Irish felt it was necessary to lock us into our own land. Germany has never shown any aggression to another nation and we don't understand the move by Jon.
It is acceptable to be protecting the Vikings, along their borders, but when the supposed "neutral" country sails in our waters, to keep us from moving about is an outrage! Germany has done nothing to deserve such treatment. By his move today, the Irish show a lack of respect for all German people!"

Later, other officials made brief statements and some said that President Ed was physicaly upset when he heard the news about the Irish war ships. It is not a concern that the German Navy was headed anywhere, if at all, but we should not be locked from moving about. This is a big world, and it is felt by all Germans that the Irish treat us unfairly and with no respect.

Germany has had a good relationship with Jon of Ireland and hopes it continues. To stop the degration of that friendship will depend on the Irish Navy's next move, and Jon's disrespectful attitude.

                Toronto Sun

(CP News)Prime minister Max offered to the press this statement today. Having very little details on the Viking/English conflict its hard to get a clear picture on whats going on there. But after reading the statements of the English/Viking/German. I get the impression that this is a simple matter of English expansionist aggression. While their puppets the Irish try to play the role of kingmaker by blocking out any assistance to the Vikings. Of course this is speculation and we ask upon the Vikings to share their maps with us on every turn so that we can get a clearer picture of English atrocities.

                  Viking News

An English Invasion force entered Viking territory today. The enemy force consisted of 18 units of marines and tanks. They seemed intent on attacking the small town of Upursula. It was with great regret that the Viking high command took the decision to make a tactical withdrawal from this area. Troops have been relocated in order to defend a larger more important town. The retreating solders set fire to the buildings of Uppusla in order to minimise the gain of the enemy however it is estimated that around 10 thousand civilians remain in the area, there is already plans in place to build a new city for the farmers of Upursla to resettle but for the time being they are at the mercy of English forces. Should these innocent civilians be attacked by the English it would constitute a gross breach of humanitarian rights. Who knows what evils the war criminal Sophix is capable of ?

Elsewhere the Vikings have been working hard to maximise the effectiveness of the defence of all the remaining cities. Frazer has contacted all other world leaders in a plea for international aid as it is not felt that Viking defences are adequate at this time and the power of the English will be much increased should the invasion plans come to fruition.

The criminals of Norway today, forced their poor to form a human shield. At first the compassionate English soldiers, wanted to bring the poor citenzry back to England, but the oppressed citizens informed them that if this were to happen thier families back home would be mercilessly tortured by the clergy. So the citezenry was sent home to Norway.

The English general believed that the entire Norse east would be captured within 5 turns all the way to Hladir. Which is not surrounded by the third British army. As well as a small deployment of Battleships and Destroyers. It is expected to fall in one or two turns.

Many of the nations of the world have considered this an attempt of English expansion, yes the final result will bring about the expansion of British territories, but that is not the ultimate goal of England. The secretary of Defense admitted that should foriegn involvement reach a certain point that England would have no choice, but to remove Norway from the continent to disallow any foothold by foriegn princes. He also went on to say that England remains well guarded at that none of the over 30 units now present in Vikland were taken from British defenses.

There is also a misconcieved notion that Britain is a powerful nation, this is both true and untrue. Militarily Britain can stand toe to toe with any nation, but in the long haul we represent little threat to the SFU or the Canadian/Mayan alliance.

                        IFS Foreign Ministry Statement.

It is with grave disquiet that we have read the insulting and provocative statements issued by the German and Canadian Governments.

The Free State is a formal Ally of both protagonists in this unfortunate dispute and therefore unable to adopt other than a policy of strict neutrality. We are however determined that this will not escalate into a Global Conflict and are just pleased that by a fortunate coincidence substantial elements of the IFS Navy were on exercise off the Viking coast to enable us to take up Peacekeeping duties immediately.

Canadian suggestions that Ireland is anyone's puppet are deeply offensive and an immediate retraction is demanded. Ireland will act as she sees fit to defend her own interests whilst maintaining her Treaty Obligations. It is against Irish interests that any 'third party' forces should become envolved and any and all measures needed to prevent this occuring will be taken.

German complaints are similarly without foundation. Teutonic expansionism has always been a fear and to prevent any such manouvres an IFS Fleet has been in position for many years. Never has the territorial integrity of Germany been violated and unless they seek to interfere in the current Anglo-Viking dispute this will remain the case.

We pray for Peace but will not ignore the dangers of War.

Statement of Slav-French Union (after debate between Klair and Luk):

The Slav-French Union has send the ultimatum to British Prime Minister. If British forces will not withdraw from Viking territory, Slav-French Union will go in state fo war with England. France, and Slav Confederate started to produce vast amount of units, and now we are going to produce about 40-50 military intis per 6-7 turns. We will smash England out from Viking territory and then we will continue our offense in England until decisive victory. We do not want a war but we will react if English will attack innocent Viking peacefull nation.

So if England doesnt want war with mighty SFU then England must stop invasion to Viking territory.

If Ireland will attack any of country which is helping Viking nation, SFU will react immidiatly

                          Signed,

                              Turn to Frazer.

I would like to remind all nations that as an Ally of both warring Nations Ireland cannot take, or be seen to take, sides. This does not mean that we have forgotten our Treaty obligations to either with regard to Third Party envolvement.

My personal view's on the morality of English Foreign Policy are not a matter of public concern and have been conveyed 'off thread'.

Ireland has no desire for War with any nation but those who believe that Insults and Threats will serve to influence our chosen path of watchful and guarded neutrality are much mistaken.

Ireland can and will protect her own territorial integrity by any means she sees fit.

Canadian officals debated the Viking/English crises today in the House of Commons. Heated debate raged over whether Canada should get involved. Prime Minster Max was asked to supply an apology to the Irish goverment on his controversial remarks by the opposition party. The Prime Minister claimed his remarks were indeed insultive and offers a public apology.

The Prime Minister also claimed that even though he understands Irish neutrality due to it alliances, it still doesn't understand how it can stand by and watch a fellow ally being slaughtered and butchered by the English army. At least it can do is allow an peacekeeping force help the Vikings in their time of need.

Prime Minister confided with his defense advisors and after much consultation is still undecided on the course of action the Canadians should take in this matter. He claimed we will help but how and how much is still being examined.
