    Turn 84 to Demos.

My Children, the Maya and the Welsh see phantoms where they do not exist. I love all the people of this World and seek earnestly to avoid bloodshed. The maintainance of the Australian Armed Forces at a state of 'War Readiness' was a simple oversight and I am grateful that my error has been pointed out so that it can be rectified.

Despite constant reiterations of Australian Foreign Policy the World appears to be populated by profoundly deaf leaders. Let it be known that it is almost CERTAIN that Australia WILL NEVER go to war against any of her neighbours.

      Turn 84 ==> Tom Red

To all World Leaders, remember next time that our neighbourly cannonised Jon requests a 'crusade' that the word and deed of the 'noble' one seldom meet in the same place.

I'm sure that all here, apart from the newly elected ruler of the Northern Natives, will remember St Jon's calls for action against the Beast.

It is not that the Welsh people hold it against the Australians for not practicing the words that their preacher has preached, in fact, it has left all the more for us to gain.

We would however like the simply courtesy of admitance of Australian instigation in this matter, purely for the scholars of the future.

Simply bear in mind the lack of correlation between word and deed, and remember who has the largest, most military ready, and uninvolved, army in the world.

      You have been warned....
      Cariad,
      Demosthenes.

        Almost certain....

Gotta leave that window of opportunity open, eh St. Jon?

          Turn 85 To Demos.

Please My Children! Listen to the voice of charity and stop all this wanton butchery!

Whilst I confess that I urged upon the World to join with Australia in a 'Crusade' to rid the World of 'The Beast' none would hearken to my counsel and therefore Australia sadly had to find her own path to follow. I offered my light to you all but you refused to look upon it. I even allowed Lords Demosthenes and Sophix to Kiss my Ring, an honour bestowed to few, and yet this did not move them from torpidity.

Blame me not for the war you have unleashed upon yourselves for it was planned outside of my Counsel Chambers.

As for for the comments of Lord Demosthenes about the size and unengaged status of the Australian Military, it is all determined by geography. Australia has only a modest army when the length of her borders is considered and her Navy is scant enough to patrol her enormous coastline.

I will do stoop to give reply Lord Hextupal's sarcasm and allusions to ignoble motives.

          Blessings Upon You All.

            St Jon,

We need no excuses for our actions. We believe that this crusade is a noble one, and are not ashamed of it.

It is a shame that the one who first advocated it now vehemently trying to end it. I would not wish to offend my saintly ally and neighbour, but how can we commit to peace now? You have always stated, time and again, that any such crusade MUST be fulfilled to it's conclusion, and that is what is happening.

The Welsh people might even find it in their hearts to forgive the insipid Romans for their crimes of the past. But we simply cannot trust that a peace settlement will be adhered to.

Revenge is a deadly sin, as well you know my gracious friend, and can consume the soul beyond reason. It is my belief that TAFKAB will not be able to overcome his desires of this nature.

Perhaps if you were to act in an inquisitor's role he could be persuaded otherwise.....
            Cariad,

Welsh intelligence reports a formidable Roman army heading towards Hispalis. Nine regiments were seen moving into formation for an upcoming battle. Amongst the regiments many musketeers were counted. Calvary were also seen, although the presence of cannons has not yet been confirmed.

To the Australians: I am sending a diplomat to Darwin to formalise cordial relations. It should arrive in about 3 turns time. Please do not misunderstand out intentions - we come in peace.

The Indigenes of the Polar Cap are welcome to send a Diplomat though we insist that once his legitimate task is performed that he depart immediately. He will not be given passage across Australian land as we are nervous enough at a potential Mayan Spy placed so close to us.

To call a Mayan diplomat a spy is a stretch, to say the least. Mayans are trustworthy and faithful.

Didn't the diplomat set up his embassy in Australia and then withdraw from Australian territory - as requested. Last time I checked, the CTP world did not have any borders to define questionable areas - and that area that the diplomat was stationed in could be considered under Welsh domain, as well as Australian domain.

Besides, when the embassy was set up, St Jon was all aflutter with joy because the Mayan forces were busily using 'TAFKAB' armies as target practice. St Jon even invited the diplomat to the Australian capital. The Mayan diplomat was waiting for an opportune time to make that visit.

                      My how times have changed...

                      Mayan faithfulness remains constant though.

Hispalis holds out against TAFKAB's crack suicide squad. Despite their best efforts to save the Roman forces from certain death, Welsh regiments could not stop them from meeting an unfortunate end. Some Welsh Pikemen even gave their lives to try to save the suicide soldiers, but it was to no avail. Nine Roman regiments of musketeers and cavalry could not be saved.

In a bid to prevent this from happening again, Welsh forces have overtaken Aquila. The Australian border with the romans is now beginning to shorten in length. Perhaps now Noble St jon can begin his much desired demilitarisation.

In honour of this latest series of events Demosthenes has been crowned Prince Regent of Wales. I now ask that others join me in removing Roman troops and cities out of the hands of TAFKAB, for he seems intent upon sending his oppressed subjects to their death....

We welcome the Native Americans to the world of modern weoponry. It was through a wise suggestion from Hextapul that the Native Americans were gifted with the wonderful technology of Gunpowder - though St Jon did grumble about that...

But if I was in St Jon's shoes, I might of grumbled too.

Hextapul was at the coronation of Demos. It was a moving ceremony. The large crowds prevented Hextapul from seeing if any of the other esteemed leaders of the world were there though.
