      Turn 81 ==> Tom Red

      Agrippina falls. A pitiful defence crumbled against the onslaught of the Welsh attack, that has now claimed the three closest cities to the Welsh borders.

      The liberated cities are rejoicing at their new found freedom, and the Welsh natives habve accepted the newcomers with open arms.

      The buffer-zone is now complete.

      Sorry about the absence, and the lack of notice, but I had no choice in the matter. Crisis over for now.

          Turn 81/82 -> Sophix

          It's a lovely view from Pompeii today.

          I would take you up on that offer of Welsh cannon, but Mayan workers are very proud of their cannons - thank you very much!

              Turn 82 ==> Tom Red

              It's gone very quiet in here, is there something afoot that I'm unaware of? Apart from TAFKAB's imminent counter-attack.

              Noble St Jon, this upcoming battle should be the the decisive one you were looking for.

              Tom Red, have you managed to quell any insurrections within your empire, or has all been well since your glorius rise to power?

              Good brother Sophix, how goes your campaign in the East?

              And friend Hextapul, you aides have been somewhat quiet on your activities. It's been a number of years since you took one of the Beast of ex-Rome's cities. hope you're not slacking off

                turn 82 =======> Hexagonia

                All insurrections have indeed been quelled, however in half a dozen years we have yet to turn the corner and catch up with our advanced neighbours.

                What historical event caused the huge dip in the power graph ratings about 20 or so turns ago ?

                  In the far away lands known as 'Burchill's Semi Acc' I believe, a sorcerer was known to create city walls and granaries out of thin air. This had repercussions in our land of semi acc, and also demos's semi acc, and who knows how many others.

                  The sorcerer was quickly put to death and a balance was restored to the universe.....

                    Some well-earned R&R for the Mayan troops this turn, as they consider where next to go...

                      Turn 83 to Demos.

                      I plead with you Brothers and Sisters to give up this butchery!

                      Remember the sanctity of human life. This is not war but genocide and must stop.

                      Of course the choice is your's but a total surrender followed by a plea for clemency by 'The Beast' should suffice. Total Roman disarmament and significant war reparations must be enough for the appalling bloodshed to end.

                      I may even allow 'It' to kiss my ring if suitable repentance for 'It's' very existance is shown.

                      St Jon the Pacifist.

                        Why the change of heart - after all, you were the one screaming for the head of 'the Beast' just a few turns ago.

                        Methinks that St Jon is more irritated that his forces were out of position, and were unable to take part in alll of the fun, rather than any benevolent feeling that he may feel for 'TAFKATB'.

                        Besides, I thought that you were beating your muskets into plowshares and having them stand down - as you so humbly claimed on turn 78.

                        But it seems that your forces are still on 'Full Alert'.

                        Hmmmmmmm....

                          Turn 83 ==> Tom Red

                          Noble St Jon, how can you now ask us to change from our path, when it is you that sent us upon our crusade?

                          Was it not from your urgings, your teachings, and your warnings, that we found the courage and strength to take on this foe?

                          Was it not you that preached for many hundred years that peace could only be found after the Beast's destruction?

                          And are you not still at a very unpeaceful military readiness of 'At War'?

                          Methinks that this path we tread lies partly due to you, and thou cannot shake off thy responsibility in this matter so lightly.

                          Also, to think that TAFKAB does not deserve this treatment is to err on the side of insanity. After the years of aggression, oppression, and exploitation under a Roman dictatorship and hegemony, the time has finally come to show the Romans that they are none other than schoolyard bullies, and that bullies can be beaten.

                          Please, do not insult our intelligence by calling for peace with TAFKAB when you have always called for war TAFKAB and his heathen forces.

                          The war is in part your doing, but now that the dogs of war have been released, calling them back may not be so easy. We have invested alot into this campaign, and we intend to reap as much from it as possible. Just because you have changed your tune does not mean that we will follow suit.

                              The Beast of Rome was a term first used by St Jon the Noble, patron saint of Australia, to describe Shavlor and his diabolical actions towards other soveriegn nations.

                              The Aggressor Formerly Known As Beast, was coined a few hundred years ago by the Welsh people in outcry against Shavlor and his forces upon our emancipation from Roman shackles.

                              TAFKAB is The Beast of Ex-Rome, if you will, as Rome is no longer, as will be the case of TAFKAB himself....

                                Great Sophix

                                You should of given the Mayan people warning that you were sending a diplomat. One turn, there is no-one there, and the next turn, as if by magic, he appeared. Mayan ettiquette requires that one must always ask the host permission to sup at the dinner table of diplomacy, before he is allowed to be admitted. It gives our steward time to prepare for such an honored guest. Our stewards take their job very seriously - one slip-up could be fatal for them. And finding replacements can be so difficult...

                                We, regretably, had to send the diplomat back home, until proper warning is given.
