Today an emergency meeting was held in the politburo. The economy is in dire straights. Somthing has to be done...
"The people in my province have nothing, the unemployment is rampant, Crime levels are the highest they have ever been, the schools are decrepid and falling apart, the factorys need new tools and the government hasnt delivered pension in months" said Jiang Minh Governer of Chonqing province"
"We're flat broke, why the hell havent our scientists discovered jets yet. Were are the Nuclear missiles Saddam Promised us. The nations of the world are toying with all sorts of new weapons. Why the hell are we so far behind!?" yelled a military official from the back of the House.
"What can we do!? Our budget is even leaner this year. If we cannot deliver the bare essentials. Why would the people continue to put up with our government!?" Pleaded a party official
"The economy has hit a 27 season low. Somthing must be done!"- Said new Government economist Wong Wok.
He went on, "The problem is Chinas geographic misfortunes. We simply dont have enough of goods on our own land. Tho our absent President Saddam who chose not to show up at this meeting for unknown reasons, has made some progress, it is all but wiped out now bye burdensome maintence of 'modern buildings' such as Recyclign plants and Hospitals in our largest cities. Many of you dont know how dire the situation is. Fact is, 40% of our gold profits are imported from Scotland. Yes, thats right! 40%!!. Our generous neighbors have kept us afloat, allowing our people to import there Elephants for Ivory. Where we recieve kickbacks from there sales abroad, which is illegal in most nations. A further 15% is from Germany, and 5% from Rome. The rest of the profits can be scraped together on the mainland. Whilst, China does export several goods. The profits from those are weak, and the customers in Russia, Germany, and Rome are not going paying to pay anymore then what we currently sell them for. We are in seroius trouble, the final government budget this year is well under 100 gold. And it will continue to decline unless somthing is done"
He continued, much to the interest of the politburo
"Basically Gentlemen, we are faced with our greatest crises to date. A simple embargo would throw our nation is extreme poverty, and our government into shambles. There is only one thing we can do. We must implement my plan. It will be done in 3 phases...First we must flood the foriegn market with whatever goods we have, at an extrememly cheap price. We need whatever little bit of money we can get. Lets hope that overseas corporations around the world may show interest...Next it is imperative that we build Airports and Televisions! Then we must find a source of goods...look anywhere!
"Goods!? The past leaders blew there oppurtunity to settle anything worthwhile. The world is all but colonized, hardly a good unused"- Yelled Chung Qui Trade minister
"There is word of crab fisheries just discovered on Hainan. Get to these immediately..."Demanded Wong
"Gentlemen, your going to have to tighten your belts this season. No new expensive buildings !! The Recycling plants and our 2 universitys may need to be sold off and closed if this downturn persists, which would have dire effects on the GLOBAL CLIMATE !!The workers will have to find new jobs. I will brief you all again at the end of 27th session of the politburo on what has changed and whether it has helped China economy. "

“The Communist Manifesto was correct…but…we see the privileges of the capitalist bourgeoisie yielding…to democratic organizations…In my judgment…success lies in a steady [peaceful] advance…[rather]…than in…a catastrophic crash."Eduard Bernstein
Or do we?
