    Turn 256 --> Comrade Mobius

    We hope the distinguished leader of Wales will note that while Egypt's pollution did indeed spike upward momentarily, it is now again responding to efforts to lower it, and should continue on its downward course...

    An Egyptian embassy has been established with Rome today, and Egypt hopes to be welcomed at the Vale of Glamorgan tomorrow... Egyptian forces have withdrawn from Busiris, now that a peace treaty has been signed.

      Rome also notes a slight rise in output after a series of excellent declines.

      Rest assured cleanups are continuing throughout the 'Big Six' Roman polluters with further measures coming on stream during the next few turns...

        The Fatherland does hope that Rome cleans up it's 'Big Six', as they alone spew out four times more pollution into our Earth's fragile atmosphere than the total emissions for Wales as a whole.

        However, we are still pursuing a course that we hope will bring us down to zero emissions.
        Cariad,
        Demosthenes.

          War-weary citizens of Egypt cheer as word arrives that an Embassy has been established with Wales. Hopes are high that an Embassy with Australia is next...

          Having seen our pollution again rise, the Egyptian government has dissolved in order to metamorphise into a more earth-friendly form...

            At last the world appears to be settling down, as Egypt sheds off it's Communist shackles. We urge Rome to do the same as we in the Fatherland believe it would have dramatic effects on your pollution output.

              The call for a change in the Fatherland's approach to the rest of the world has heralded the creation of the Internet. Our people will now be able to understand other cultures, and benefit from this knowledge.

              It is widely aspected that this new form of communication will bring about a modernisation of our country.

                As Egypt ends her brief period of anarchy, we are pleased to find our new government better equipped to lower pollutants.

                Our congratulations to the Welsh on their completion of what will surely be dubbed the "Worldwide Welsh Web". Egyptians are already waiting with bated breath to see the much-talked about Cow-cam, and other useful internet tools...

                      Surprising that now, after peace has settled upon this earth, that Egypt should now embrace Fascism. We in Wales and Australia gladly tried to convert you before, but at last the message has hit home.

                        Yes, it is true that Egypt has converted to the more earth-friendly government of Fascism. And other changes are ongoing, as Egypt tends to home and hearth, after so many years of the ugliness of war.

                        Modeling ourselves on a mythological kingdom called "Switzerland",
                        the tiny Alpine nation of Egypt will try to remain neutral in the disagreements of the world, and will strive to produce excellent chocolate and time-keeping devices! Our fresh-faced milk maids will endeavour to improve our dairy products, too.

                        It is toward this end that Egypt has taken the bold step of putting all armed forces at "peace", thus allowing our many soldiers to go on leave. May the rest of the world join us in such harmony...

                          Egypt is indeed to be congratulated in changing governments to a more environmentally aware form - we in Rome will be taking such a step in the very next cycle, as well as having another two recycling plants open and another nuclear plant!

                          Egypt's standing down of her armies is a truly bold step and one which Rome may consider following once she is out of the anarchy and chaos that goes hand in hand with a change of government...

                          Rome has also taken steps to reduce her production by 1/3 as her pollution levels had suddenly increased across the board by about 50% - one can only assume that this is the terrible legacy that the Roman peoples have to endure as the only surviving communist state on this planet!?

                          Of course with the cut back in production Roman workers can get on with other 'extra curricular' activities that have for so long been put on hold. It has been a long time since the streets and boulevards of Roman cities have played host to the carefree laughter of children...

                            Turn 260 ==> Rick

                            I congratulate Rome on her completion on the Genome Project, and now hear news that the Globesat is now their next project.

                            However, considering that Rome out-pollutes every nation on this earth, with absolute impunity, and that again her noxious emissions have increased dramatically, the Fatherland suggests that building the Globesat should be postponed until this 'supposed' new emission-reducing scheme is underway and results can actually be verified.

                            We have only 53 cycles to save the planet, building the Globesat whilst spewing out so much vileness can only give you a clearer view of how much damage Communism has done to the world.

                              We remain hopeful that the succesful completion of an Embassy with Australia will continue the improvement our relations between our peoples.

                              We notice the podigious rate of Australian procreation, whose nation leads the world in high-population cities. It is rumored that many of the children have a striking resemblance to Lung, but not having been invited to Australia for many years, we wouldn't know if there is any truth to this!

                                Throwing off the shackles of the old order!

                                Rome heeds Wales' polite concern over the fate of our planet and this cycle has unveiled yet more completed Recycling Plants and, more importantly, has renounced the need to remain being a communist nation!

                                With the end of hostilities, Rome now feels that it is safe to change from a government of survival to a government of progress! In keeping with this theme, Rome has embarked on a modernisation programme which will see the last of the obsolete units of this land disbanded within the next 5-6 cycles...

                                Rest assured that Rome will not slacken from her fight against pollution, but will redouble her efforts by turning to science in order to find yet more advances to combat this vile blight on our World.

                                The people of Rome are also greatly heartened to notice that the Australia army has now stood down from her at war status and followed Egypt's bold lead! If Wales follows suit, Rome will too! Otherwise Rome will wait for the stability of a new government to assert itself before making a similar decision...
