Today a small blow was struck against the scourge of pollution that blights our fair planet! In the coming turns, more and more systems will be coming online in Rome's bid to fend off Global Catastrophe - it will begin as a trickle at first, but have patience...

Our interior minister Albertus Speerius is moving post haste to restructure the shattered economy after years of war and bloodshed and believes that the time is not far off for relinquishing the reigns of Communism - that in itself should provide Rome's greatest contribution to the first against Global Disaster!

Nations of the World do not worry about the false alarm of Egypt attacking the Roman Empire - one of our young Komsomol youths thought it was an attack when in actual fact it was part of a restructuring project between our two nations as Rome seeks to return Egyptian cities back to their rightful masters...

Wales welcomes any news that Rome is lowering her emissions, and this is doubly important as scientists point out this turn that we have just 49 turns to avert from environmental catastrophe.

Egypt welcomes news of efforts to prevent global ecological disaster, as warnings come from a distinguished panel of scientists regarding possible dangers.

Meanwhile, our struggle to pull our economy out of the red bears fruit as the head of the Egyptian Reserve Bank announces today a profit of several gold pieces!

Now that the spectre of global war is receding into the distance, the People of Rome are rejoicing in the first significant decrease in pollution output from from factories!

More and greater steps are being taken, particularly as the first recycling plants come online from next cycle onwards - it is not a moment too soon as already our scientists are warning of the disintegration of the world's ozone layer...

On another note, Rome is pleased to announce that Roman/Egyptian restructuring has been completed!

We wish our comrades every success in their fight to regain their former power and glory...

We'd need a lot bigger hills than any in this world to keep us from the flood that will engulf us all! Our scientists estimate that as the seas rise, only the floors above the 24th floor will remain above water in buildings within coastal cities. On the other hand, the surf should be awesome! Still, non-surfers may not find this an equitable tradeoff, so if recent progress continues, we may still escape a soaking!

May the Diplomat from Wales forgive us for giving him a ride home, but he was inadvertently slowing the extraction of ore from one of those previously mentioned hills.

Citizens rejoiced on the Streets of Virconium as pollution was cut by more than 50%! Roman scientists also took note that for the first time the time until the next global catastrophe actually increased!

This fantastic news will not cause Rome to slacken her efforts - indeed it will strengthen her resolve a hundredfold!

No alarm should be raised by false reports of renewed hostilities between Egypt and Australia. Apparently, the burglar alarm was inadvertently left on in Geberlain, and one of our men must have tripped it off as he entered. It is now off, and a Peace Treaty has been sent to Australia to affirm our friendship!

As the world struggles to avoid disaster, Egypt is thrilled to welcome Diplomats from both Wales and Rome. An Egyptian Diplomat is about to visit your countries, as well as Australia, with your permission. Let us all work together to save the planet!
