  • Turn 242 ==> Sophix

    Environmental catastrophe has occured, and will do so again in another 32 turns should the stench ridden communist nations do not change their ways.

    Minor flooding and climate change are widespread.

    If the Communists are intent on peace then the Fascists of Wales have yet to see this. As a gesture of goodwill, Wales declined the opportunity to seize Brundisum this turn, and awaits a similiar response from Rome, in addition to her lowering her emissions of noxious fumes.

        • Sophix, I'm still getting mail delivery faiure notification warnings, so I guess that you haven't recieved the turn still.

          Do you have another email address that I can send the gamefile to?

          Also, and this applies to all, I got an email from somebody who claims to be a long time reader of this thread, and would greatly appreciate a copy of the before and after disaster gamefiles, however, I do not have any pre-disaster gamefiles on my harddrive, as I've deleted them all. I think that you guys probably do have the right gamefile, and so when we've figured out the next turn, and if you're so inclined, could you mail a copy of each to Ursakra@aol.com as I'm sure that they'd greatly appreciate it.

            Rome respects Wales' generous offer not to capture Brundisium, but sitting on it's city limits vandalising road and rail connections just isn't conducive to the kind of peace we had in mind...

            Wales will find that these 7 tanks have been removed from harm's way! The Roman Empire has always had historical problems dealing with Vandals - not so with Communist Rome!

            In further preparation for peace, Rome has finally extinguished Wales' northern enclave with brilliant victories over Lampeter and Llandybie and an easy walkover against Llandarcy!

            Rome is glad to say that the Welsh Empire is not longer split into two halves - it's just a little smaller...

            This action was deemed necessary in the pursuit of peace when considering Wales' somewhat dubious definitions of peaceful actions. This security hazard could not in this instance be allowed to remain!

            Perhaps Wales is mistaken - Rome is not pleading for peace from a position of weakness, as has been proved by the destruction of 24 Welsh units on this turn alone!

            Our previous offer remains on the table...

            • Turn 243 ==> Sophix

              The WISE report devastating losses this turn, with our northern annex being completely occupied. However, it is widely believed that due to the constant attacks and occupation of nearby territories, that the citizens of these cities had been polluted by the degenerate and impure disease that is Communism.

              The WISE notes that the newly revised territory of the Fatherland should suffer little because of this disease.

              • Turn 243--> Comrade MOBIUS

                Much has changed since last I visited these lands. Boundaries have shifted. The earth has been tortured by the production of man until scorched blemishes now mar her beauty. New rivers have sprung forth. And Egypt has (ahem) become more svelt....perhaps she has been on a reduction diet?

                But that just means that she is leaner and meaner! How shall her considerable might now be utilized? Stay tuned!

                • Rome welcomes the change of governments in Egypt - perhaps now finally we can all have peace and avert an environmental catastrophe?

                  We are eager to cast down the shackles of Communist pollution, but need assurances that any peace is lasting and no advantage will be taken of Rome's weakened transitional state...

                        • PEACE FOR THE SAKE OF OUR PLANET!

                          Rome is still concerned about the lack of progress vis a vis peace...

                          Although she suffered no attacks this turn, a force has entered the city limits of Colwyn Bay and a Roman Spy was stumbled across...

                          Rome has already moved much of her army from the front line and is currently working on increasing the happiness her citizens followed by a clear commitment to the reduction of pollution, assuming the other nations allow her.

                          For the good of the planet, Rome suggests a global peace proposal as outlined below...

                          PROPOSED PEACE TREATY

                          All sides must cease hostilities henceforth...

                          1) As a gesture of goodwill, Rome with relinquish control of Colwyn Bay willingly
                          2) opposing units outside of cities must be stationed no closer than 6MP’s to foreign cities
                          3) After a period of 5 turns Rome and Egypt to revert from Communism

                          Further concessions etc are subject to negotiation, however we must cease-fire now in order to progress this accord...

                          Rome’s part in the Great War

                          As an ally of the then ruler of Egypt, Rome was duty bound to help her ally. Rome and Egypt were rapidly falling behind in the technology stakes. At a time of increased tensions between Egypt and Wales, Wales turned to an historically aggressive form of government in the name of Fascism. Afraid of the widening technology gap and the very real possibility of not being able to defend herself in the future, Egypt launched a pre-emptive attack on Wales which caused the other two nations to become involved.

                          The Leadership of Rome and Egypt regrets that this action had to be taken, but given the aggressive stance of Wales at that time – it was felt that there was no other alternative!

                          However now that technological parity appears to have been regained, the future of our World is at stake and requires a Herculean effort from all nations working in unison to avoid future environmental catastrophes!

                          Signed,

                          Comrade MOBIUS

                          (P.S. mocking the visage of the workers leader of Rome, is hardly conducive to brokering a peace deal!)
                          Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

                          • The WISE are considering the words of Comrade Mobius and will report back on them after deliberation and consultation.

                            However, to lay blame for this bloody conflict at the doorstep of the Welsh is both wrong and inciteful. Egypt was to attack Wales regardless, hence our patriotic nationalism being transformed into the purity that is Fascism.

                            This was merely a reaction to Egyptian actions, that being placing numerous hordes of troops outside our cities and repeatedly sending spies into our territory.

                            Do not expect the Welsh to swallow your propaganda, for it will not happen.

                            • Turn 245 ==> Sophix / Rick

                              Whilst being in the midst of deliberating the words of Comrade Mobius on the subject of how to achieve peace in the world, The WISE recieved a shocking report, proving once and for the impurity of all that is Communist.

                              Rome and Egypt have gone to war!

                              Finally the pollution that has been vomiting forth from the nations of Communism has seeped into their relationship, and war has broken out. First showings indicate that Rome has occupied at least one Egyptian city, the already isolated Edfu.

                              Compounding the poor situation for the Communists of Egypt was the Fascist Liberation of Dendera. In a swift operation, battalions from the Welsh Fascist Regiment and Cmyru Tank Corps swept into the town, wiping out not only the degenerate armed forces, but also the corrupt legal and political infrastructure.

                              The WISe now realised that the words of Comrade Mobius could never be trusted, and knowing now that the prospect of peace with Communist Rome could only lead to deciet and treachery, the city of Colwyn Bay was also liberated, rather than handed back as had been offered.

                              Both Rome and Egypt are now at war with every other race on the planet, aswell as the planet itself. In times such as this, it is glad to know that the Fascist nation still remains strong and true.

                              • Turn 244--> Comrade MOBIUS

                                Shocked and disappointed, Egypt finds that her Communist brother in Rome has forcibly taken one of her cities. More predictably, the Welsh have done the same.

                                It is clear that Egypt is alone in the world, without friends to turn to.
                                But the nation that created the pyramids will not let these grim odds weaken
                                our resolve to defend our homeland from any thugs who come bent on mindless destruction.

                                Already, the brave but oppressed citizens of Dendura have restored the
                                freedom and honour that they had enjoyed there until the Barbarian Welsh
                                came to pillage the city. Working from within, they helped pave the way for
                                the Egyptian army, who came to their rescue. All Welsh who were captured
                                have been sent home, hopefully to tell their tale of Egyptian mercy. They
                                also bring a message that we still wish to halt this war to try and save the
                                earth from the ravages of pollution.

                                Should our offer be scorned, then Egypt will fight on. Let all nations know
                                that while they might gang up on Egypt, we will not go quietly. We will
                                fight you on the tundra, we will fight you in the swamps...we have only just
                                begun to fight!!
