  • Rome was merely saving the isolated city of Edfu from the evil Fascists - the attack on Colwyn Bay and Dendera merely prove to reinforce the fact that the Roman policy was the right one at the time!

Should any other Egyptian cities be attacked, Rome will have no choice but to protect further Egyptian cities from the loathesome Nazis!

For the final time - World polution has to be curbed or we will all suffer! If Rome cannot secure a peaceful solution - she will have no alternative but to turn to the conquest of the Fascist nations...

    Other News

The loss of Colwyn Bay was keenly felt by the Politburo, but this was somewhat tempered by the execution of a Welsh Spy detected by a roving Roman counterspy!

Espionage does not further the cause of peace!

THe Fascist nation has been calling for an end to pollution for some time now, but the Communists have ignored our pleas.

Only now that you are suffering the harvest of the foulness that you have sown, with the destruction of land and the rioting of your unhappy people, do you choose to take up our cause.

This is not for the good of the planet, but for your own selfish reasons.

The invaders of Bubastis have been driven from the city by the valiant Egyptian Army, aided by the Egyptian Air Force. Citizens of the city told of cruelty and torture at the hands of the Australians.

But Egypt has had enough of this defensive situation. As new Egyptian divisions are now mobilized, the Welsh and Australians will soon know what it feels like to be on the defensive! Onward!!

        • General Offensive ordered on all fronts!

          Turn --> Lung yesterday

After yet another callous attack by the Welsh/Australian Fascist Alliance on a weak but apparently by no means defenceless Egypt, Roman forces have been mobilised once more!

Although Roman forces have not launched any offensives for several years, after a catalogue of trespass, espionage, vandalism and attempted conquest during these years that Rome has been suing for peace - the workers wanted action!

          Commencement of hostilities against Australia...

The massed tank armies of Rome's southern armoured group scored an impressive victory by overrunning Indooroophilly, fabled city of Galileo's Telescope - resistance was lighter than expected and people's army casualties were relatively light!

Rome now stands poised to cut the Australian Empire in two, unless Australia can recover from what seems to have been a complete surprise to Steve Waugh and his minions!

Liberation of the Egyptian city of Lisht...

Given Wales' self serving agenda, including capturing a city that would have voluntarily been ceded to her if she had seen fit to agree to Roman peace entreaties, and her continuing persecution of the Egyptian peoples - there was no option but to recommence operations!

After taking Edfu under protective custody from the Egyptians earlier, the city was used as a springboard for an air and land attack against Welsh military targets. Resistance was strong - but the resolve and belief of the Romans was stronger!

You wanted War instead of Peace - now you have it!

However, to lay blame for this bloody conflict at the doorstep of the Welsh is both wrong and inciteful. Egypt was to attack Wales regardless, hence our patriotic nationalism being transformed into the purity that is Fascism.

This was merely a reaction to Egyptian actions, that being placing numerous hordes of troops outside our cities and repeatedly sending spies into our territory.
No blame was attached in this manner - it is true that both Egypt and Wales were playing a cat and mouse game...

However, Wales appeared more than happy to play it - what was to stop an advanced Wales from attacking when it became invincible due to winning the technology race!!? Especially when it converted to a fascist government!

As it was Egypt and Rome only barely managed to claw their way back when the advances of Explosives and Mass Production were 'acquired' through daring lightening raids! Without the capture of these advances, we would have been lost, the timing of our attacks was touch and go - a few turns more and Wales would already have had the Fascists that it so successfully used against the Egyptian Musketeers!

It really was that close! Now however, we appear to have gained a technological parity!

We do not blame Wales for beginning the War - but whenever there is inequality, there are winners and losers and there was rapidly coming to a point where Rome and Egypt would have had no choice in the matter!

As they resulted in the aquisition of new knowledge, perhaps they should be referred to as "enlightening" raids?

Egyptian cartographers complain of overwork, as they prepare to once again change the map, with Bubastis to Australian rule. But they are cheered by offcial word that they should go home and enjoy the weekend. Apparantly, Egyptian forces have formulated a response that will reclaim the city, making any changes to the map unnecessary!

Meanwhile the Australian army should be wary, as there was an ancient curse implanted in the walls of Bubastis to be inflicted upon any murderous thugs who came to harm the city. Do not forget, Egypt is an ancient civilization with secrets that are thousands of years old! Grave tidings await thee!

As for Welsh complaints about Rome not reducing her pollution - it was decided that a start would be made by dismantling Llandow's Oil Refinery!

Rome condemns the cowardly destruction of a strategic bridge into Australian territory, greatly delaying the liberation of Australian cities...
