If another team put something like my paragraph on philosophy in its Civilopedia entry, I wouldn't see any reason to be offended. On the contrary, I would appreciate the indication that we can expect them to try to deal honorably as long as we do.

I agree that we need to avoid taking an "in your face" attitude trumpeting Stormian honor. But to the extent that we can give indications of our desire for honorable relations without getting "in your face" about it, I view that as more likely to be beneficial than harmful - unless maybe conflicts in the previous game have left such deep wounds that even the most innocuous mention of honor from Gathering Storm would reopen them.

I think Nathan's use is OK. It's the diplomats and the public forum presence that will hang that on us, or not, I think.

Afterall, we would want people to know that when you play GS you shouldn't go around trying to eliminate AIs before contact with any other Ais so the other AIs never take it into account, wouldn't we?

I can set up a team email addy that can be set in the saves so that sending the saves goes automatically for the turn player and from which we can all grab the save.

It would have a 100MB limit.

The condition would be that no one using it ever send a message from it other than turns and diplomacy. I could get in hot water with an ISP if anyone did anything funny.

Not that I know of. A GMail account would be good, but I don't have them.

Does GMail work with the SMTP settings built into CIV?

We could set it up to forward from the SMTP capable account to a GMail account for the larger storage space.

I prefer "Learning, Sticking-a-4-foot-pitchfork-up-The-Horde's-ass and Victory" to be far more akin to my philosophy in this game.

Well if anyone were to complain... that'd probably be me. But I'm already on the team so big deal!

To me honor isn't being inflexible and rigid regarding our team's actions just so nobody suspects treachery or backstabbing. Honor is standing by the things you sign while at the same time making it perfectly clear that this is a game to win and that each team will do its utmost to achieve victory. No team should have to voluntarily tie its own hands and not do things that others would gladly consider. If we do that, we will lose.

I think that the entry is pretty good and sums up the overall team spirit quite well. And I think that given the incidents in the C3CDG, the word "honor" should be all the more relevant and upheld these days.
