I'm all for using an old constitution with the neccessary changes, if there's a useable one out there. No need to make unnecessary work.

Mark up an old one. No need to reinvent the wheel.

OK, what is a SP constitution? And why do we need one?

And how can I get that CivIV screen to display the way I want it to?

Sorry, but, "SP" constitution? What does SP stand for?

Civ IV SPDG will be good. The Civ III Constitution is very comprehensive.

I believe that the best course would be to adopt a previous constitution as provisional and modify it to fit as needed.

                  Yes

You play cooperatively with many players against AI Civ's.

We may as well wait until most people play a game or 2 before we write a competely constitution, but use an old one for the 1st turn or so, for now.

Write up a new one. CIV's strucure, to say the least, is different from Civ3. Besides, a little innovation never hurt anyone.

In a single player democracy game, where there is a large team playing against the AI, you need someway to organize yourselves. This usually involves electing leaders/players and a series of advisors/ministers (foreign affairs, military, economic, etc) on a periodic basis. You also need a way of involving the rest of the team in the debate on strategies and the key decisions related to the next series of moves (eg where to build the next city, which wonder should we start, do we go to war against England now, etc). The constitution explains how all this will work; it basically sets the ground rules for how the democracy team will run, including election processes.

                              Hope this helps.
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

I believe we need to take the time and write an entire new constitution.

                                This is a new game.

I mean why actually play the game. Ltes just talk about it
