Definitely no more than 8, or everybody will lose interest while waiting 2 weeks for the save.

PS: I feel kind of guilty that I voted when I am not even sure that I will join, although there is no better place to learn the game and have fun in the same time.

PS2: If I join, surely NOT in a Lego team this time. As much as I liked it, I want to meet new people. Vox would have made an interesting choice and I was even tempted to join, but the smallest civ from PtWDG seems to be overcrowded already. LOL. Oh well, I'll just be a voyeur for now

I say give it till Nov. 8th to start the game. I am trying to join the GS since the Horde is full, but I would be willing to join a new team as well, I just really want to play, or at least start talking strategy with my team.

the number of teams should be easy to sort out. Soon enough we set a start date, then advertise it. Come the date we start with that number of teams as is listed.

40 of the 47 votes are for 5 or more teams.
6 of the others voted banana, which could refer to the fact they not care enough on this issue.
20 of the votes are for 7 or more teams.

Ok, my MAXIMUM possible is 7 teams on a standard size map, any larger map by the time caravels and map trading happens it takes 20+min per turn just to do AI movement, and probably 1min per each of my units' movement.

As it is, with 7 teams I will have to demote myself to Lurker status as soon as a full knowledge of the Globe happens.

Unless there is some way to turn off animations etc. maybe that would improve things a bit. Already turned off wonder movies, and all graphics settings are as low as the options menu lets them go.

5-6 teams on a standard map would allow me to play all the way through I think though. Or at least far enough.

Hi metalliturtle this will be PBEM format so you wont have to watch any AI or other team movement !! in fact you would be at a serious advantage if you got to see your opponents moves

Seriously it should not cause your system any troubles as you will only ever load your teams save and then save the game at the end of your teams turn

No number of teams will slow down your system in this format.
