    1. Continents
    2. Islands (large)
    3. Pangaea

I'd also like to see at MOST 6 civs. 8 is just too slow ... Maybe even 4 civs would be better (I certainly wish we had gone with 4 for EoD ...)

Continents I prefer because of the mini-games, and because they allow for more INTERESTING diplomacy. Pangea diplomacy is simply "who will we team up with to beat whom"... I don't want a totally warlike demo game, plain and simple. A bit of war is great, but I'd much rather have a demogame where it was more about building and less about war. Islands would also accomplish that - but Continents put a bit of forceful diplomacy in the mix (forcing you to work with your partner and/or kill them).

I'd definitely though like to see a MADE map, not just a previewed one. One where there are 3 continents, 6 civs, equal (roughly) continents. Or 6 islands for the 6 civs ...

considering that there will most likely be numerous patches to Civ4, a quicker game is probably a good idea, with a pangea map and only 6 civs, we could have that quick game.

Eh, I'll only be lurking in a CIV demogame, as I do have my hands full with Eod, PTWDG2 and C3C ISDG...

Don't worry about that BF. I'll not abandon you...

Errrrm, would you accept a hardcore SP player like myself to increase your ranks? After all the good stuff I've heard about the MP part in Civ4 I'd like to give it a try, and I'd prefer playing with someone I know at least a little like you guys...?

Sure, the team demogames are open to everyone. Some teams will place have certain entry requirements, for various reasons, for example they will place a limit on the amount of members so that other, smaller, teams that require players will have a chance of recruiting.

Sure, there are certainly also teams with people that like to stick together. I have no problems with that at all.

I'd definitely like to join you then - how do you keep yourselves updated on when and who? Via this thread?

well, team updates will be handled later. Wht will probably happen is that team leaders will open threads, and that people who want to join that team will post in the thread just asking to join. After that each team will probably have a private forum to post in when the start of the game nears...

Well we might want to wait and see before judging, there were going to be some special map scripts out there this time, perhaps they are worthy of checking out on behalf on an MP Demo game. As i stated in the other thread, I find Great plains an intresting choice for an MP game.

that obviously must be a pangea map yes. But as a first demo game, a bit quicker option could be a valid choice. =)

My assumption is once we hit a critical mass of interested posters MarkG will open the forum and the recruiting threads can begin.
