Another quick email to GS only to discuss borders...

NYE,
As you see some bananas can run at the mouth, too. Agreements between nations take high word counts. No worries.

Team Banana said what it needs to say in the 3T email about techs. We are so close to an agreement there.

Concerning the borders. We are looking at that now. For now, know that we respect the ingame cultural borders and hope that you would do the same. Do you have a proposed line-in-the-sand to draw across the screenie that you sent us? We are open to discussions.

I am cutting this out so that we may easily focus on this issue apart from larger, 3-way issues.

I was thinking that the midway point between our capitals would be a good place to begin discussing borders. That point would be around a tile SW of the Splitsville rice.

We would be pleased to respect your cultural borders. Please let us know how we may do so other than staying out of them prior to open borders being agreed to. Unfortunately, your borders seem to grow all on their own and we may need to move by with our scouting woodsman, or leave him stranded somewhere. Please let us know if there are any no-go zones that are not yet inside your culture. I will take your concerns to GS. We are generally inclined to abide by the wishes of our friends.

Quick reply to TDB's detailed response.

The Alpha Centaurians are aware of Vox and are allowed to discuss them according to the interpretation of the rules given to me by Snoopy. 'XXXXXXXX' may be replaced by 'Vox'.

Banana's 2nd point is interesting:
'2. each of the three civs agrees not to retrade any technology to a non-member party acquired in trade from one of the three; without prior agreement of all three member nations.'

but is also covered by the initially proposed 2nd point:
'2. each of the three civs agrees not to retrade any technology acquired in trade from one of the three'

Of course permission by the researching (and 3rd) civ could be given for a trade to an outside party. Is there another situation that needs to be covered?

Concerning point #2.

Our thoughts were that there might be a situation where a 4th nation would have something to offer 1 of us which in turn would benefit all 3 of us. We would hate to be in a situation where we 3 nations could not benefit from a trade due to our own treaty. Team Banana agrees that no party to this treaty should exclusively benefit from tech trades to a 4th party, but that we as partners should keep the option open as long as all 3 of us agree to the trade with the 4th party.

That said, I would find it very rare that a 4th nation would have anything to offer 3 nations who co-ordinate tech research and have an agreement as ours.

Do all three nations agree to the 5 terms that Team Banana offered?

1. Technology trades will be based on beakers with equality being the goal.
2. each of the three civs agrees not to retrade any technology to a non-member party acquired in trade from one of the three; without prior agreement of all three member nations.
3. trades arranged are kept even if a tech to be traded for is acquired by other means
4. each of the three teams agrees to an embargo on the team known as Vox. Technology will never be traded with Vox and borders with them will remain closed forever.
5. tech trade arragements among member nations will be common knowledge to member nations - ie. when a trade deal is finalized all 3 members will be notified even if only 2 parties are involved in the trade.

Do we need a 6th point that defines the duration of the agreement, or is this for all time? Someone pick a date, age or tech far in the future. This is not a sticking point but it is something that should be defined.

Something like:
6. Upon this world's entry into the MODERN ERA, the members of 3T will renew 3T as is, with modifications, or dissolve Tech Trade Treaty amicably.

or

6. Upon discovering and successfully trading FISSION to 3T members, the members of 3T will renew 3T as is, with modifications, or dissolve Tech Trade Treaty amicably.

Again, someone fill in the date or technology and Team Banana will most likely agree to it.

That should cover it for us.

Team Banana looks forward to 3T being signed so that our nations grow strong together in peace.

It has been a long time indeed since we last spoke. We are sorry that our open trade agreement did not work out as we had planned but Team Banana wishes to stay on good terms with you. We wish to build a friendship with your people. Do you have any needs that we might be able to assist you with? How can we grow stronger together as neighboring nations in friendship?

We see that you are still at war with Vox. How is that going? Is there any hope of a resolution on this age old war?

religion-rustlers of the pitiful Voxian Empire is going well, and that

no possibility of co-existance with the Voxians, who live only to
entertain us until they die.

There is one matter in which you may be able to offer us some
assistance, for which we would be most grateful. Do you have knowledge
of any fledgling cities which they have sprouted away from their
capital? It might be that your scouts have encountered such a pimple
on their travels to the south of your lands. Such information, should

Stormian Envoy Cort Haus,
Well met. It is too bad that the Voxians will not live in peace with you. We know very little of them or their ways except through the stories recently told through these lands. The tales are slanted to the Vox point of view but speak of great battles with your brave Stormian Gaurd. I will pass your request onto our Mastro Turn Ludisto to see if there are any maps of Voxian "pimples" within view.

You are welcome for the trade. It is hoped that we will continue to grow this friendship between our peoples. We will need to stay strong together as I have heard rumors of peoples we call Malbonaj that live across the seas.

In a time before any can remember. There were great wars. Not the heroic wars that the Stormian have fought with Vox but terrible unthinkable wars. The Great Banana, whose name shall not be spoken, saw that this was not right. He lowered the land and filled the chasm with the seas. On this side, on Nia Kontinento he put the Homoj De Boneco (the Peoples of Goodness). Yes, we believe that even Vox, if they could ever stop this war against you are Boneco along with Gathering Storm, the Alpha Centurians, and Banana. On the other side of the waters The Great Banana placed peoples we call Malbonaj Homoj on a place called Ilia Lando, some call it Baldaŭ Estas Nia. The Malbonaj are said to be vile, tricky, babyeaters, and generally - well malbonaj. If any set foot on this Nia Kontinento it is hoped that all of the Boneco could set aside their differences and see the Malbonaj for the threat they are.

If we have any information that can bring a faster end to this GS-Vox War I will pass it on. Watch for a reply soon. Stay strong against Vox.

I committed to nothing.
I spoke of reasons mythical reasons why the peoples of this continent should grow strong together.
I encouraged them in their fight against Vox.

I hope that was OK.

Do we have any screenies that show Vox cities?
Do we want to send these screenies to GS?

I vote that if we have screenies of Vox cities - we send them. Team Banana seemed agreed to helping keep this GS-Vox War around to weaken both sides on that war. Selling or trading locations would do that.

lets say we do send such info to GS....what good will it do us in the long run, other than being next on thier hit list....hopefuly Vox has weaken them to some degree

Don't worry. I will not send screenies with out the team's strong agreement on this.

I agree that without Vox in the fight, we are next.

I just didn't want to sound like we were refusing to help.
