    ---------------------------------
    Greetings our friends!

We have noticed that you have recently researched a tech - Priesthood and we are wondering if the IW proposal was not made clear enough.
Basically, we want you to refrain from researching anything until and some time after we gift you IW.
We cannot simply gift you IW in an amount of turns which would take you to research IW while you've researched 3 more techs during that time.
That's why, to make this deal happen you need either refrain from researching anything (pouring commerce into cash) or researching something really expensive, for example Monarchy, which we'd like to trade in at some moment better sooner than later.

    Your friends @AC

pouring commerce into cash to upgrade units quickly

if it hasn't already been sent?

            • Ouch, I already sent it, but we can note that in next transmission/chat with them

              • The decision to try learning Priesthood was made when we were discussing about IronWorking, as it was felt that to learn IronWorking part way would just put us farther behind.

We are currently thinking about IronWorking Versus Monarchy... Monarchy seems like it would be a good idea as if we survive it will advance us...

We might very well focus on our cash reserves... it all depends.

                  • Heres a quick and informal little chat with JM, it seems his spirits are quite down and is nearly resigned to defeat, I think they only have one archer defending at this point and their horse archers are either still in production or not nearby. I'm sure they can whip another archer and Storm is unlikely to suicide axmen at a city when cats are going to be available so soon. Its likely another choking attempt.

If we want to go all out and commit to helping Vox by tech gifting them we could send them IronWorking and then Machinery to upgrade their best archer to a Crossbowman and then pray that this in conjunction with Horse Archers could catch Storm off guard. We would certainly have to be ware of a retaliatory gifting to Banana but as our DoW with them comes closer its increasingly less damaging due to the reduced build time for Nanas. If Bananas obtain archery we should gift to Vox

[14:19] Impaler: Hi their JM, are you available for a bit of chatting?
[16:40] Jon Miller: now I am
[16:41] Impaler: oh good, I wanted to convey congradulations from our team on the new recruits and the big jump we saw in your score this turn
[16:42] Jon Miller: ph, thank you
[16:42] Jon Miller: we haven't allowed them in yet, still discussing, I think we will though
[16:42] Impaler: oh I though I saw them on the member list thingy
[16:43] Impaler: perhaps just applying put you on that?
                    [16:43] Jon Miller: yeah
[16:44] Impaler: Emperor was one of them and some other guy ?
                    [16:44] Jon Miller: Hercules
[16:44] Jon Miller: I am still really concerned about our survival chances, and wonder at whether I should accept new people when they won't be able to play long
[16:45] Impaler: well hopefully things will turn around soon
[16:45] Jon Miller: yeah.. I suppose we have a better chance of not making a mistake if we get more active members
[16:46] Impaler: I wish I had some major new developments on assistence but its still kind of in limbo right now
                    [16:46] Jon Miller: I figured
[16:46] Jon Miller: they do have axemen now..
[16:46] Impaler: one sugjestion though if you guys should go 100% gold to get money for possible upgrades
[16:47] Jon Miller: weknow of that option
[16:47] Jon Miller: if we thought it would be useful, we would do it
[16:48] Impaler: the techs are too far away at this point to be worth persuing so I think the gold option is the best bet for having a chance
[16:48] Jon Miller: once more, we have looked into that
[16:48] Jon Miller: pretty pointless if you don't have anything to upgrade
[16:49] Impaler: well I'm considering the possibility of us gifting you techs so existing units could be upgraded
[16:49] Jon Miller: we don't ahve ironworking, and we have no bronze nearby
[16:50] Jon Miller: I guess feudalism would be niec, and would enable us to remain alive definitely
[16:50] Impaler: yes we know, we had been planning to scout around for Iron in your territory but our scout was resently killed by a barb
[16:51] Jon Miller: in fact, if we had longbowmen I would feel good about our cahnces
[16:53] Impaler: yea longbowman are excelent defenders, I basicaly halt all offensive warfare when somones got them and dont restart till i get to Knights
                    [16:53] Jon Miller: yeah
[16:53] Jon Miller: one tech after Monarchy I believe
[16:54] Impaler: so having ~120 gold on hand for such an upgrade when it becomes avalible could allow rapid use of any tech gifts we send
[16:54] Jon Miller: once more, we have such things under advisement, if we feel like it would be useful, we will do so
[16:55] Impaler: rather then having to build from scratch, it might make a difference and would catch GS offguard
[16:55] Jon Miller: yep... but I still say the same thing
[16:55] Impaler: understood, I just wanted to state our case
[16:57] Impaler: Well I hope your new members integrate well, hopefully at some point we will have more to say and perhaps we could arage a big meeting of both teams
[16:58] Jon Miller: I Also... honestly, at this point we could last less than 10 turns
[16:59] Impaler: Is GS entering your territory?
                    [16:59] Jon Miller: yep
                    [16:59] Impaler: Stack O doom?
[16:59] Jon Miller: as I said, Axemen (and before we expected them)
[16:59] Jon Miller: not sure doom, but I am not that good so we could screw this up
[16:59] Impaler: we though they would wait for catapults
                    [16:59] Jon Miller: I also
[17:00] Impaler: their close to finishing Construction we know that, but then theirs build and travel time
[17:00] Jon Miller: I figured they would wait a bit even to send any, but they sent some now.. which we will have adifficult time handling
[17:01] Impaler: do you have chariots - no wait those dont have a bonus yet do they
[17:01] Impaler: you have horse archers instead but nothing for killing melle units in the open?
[17:01] Jon Miller: nothing for killing melee units
[17:01] Jon Miller: as we don't have bronze nor ironworking
[17:02] Impaler: other then your archers on defence?
                    [17:02] Jon Miller: yeah
[17:02] Jon Miller: I don't expect them to attack unless they think they have a good chance to succeed though
[17:02] Impaler: hummm, how fast could you generate the 120 gold I was speculating about?
[17:03] Jon Miller: how would that effect things?
[17:03] Impaler: It might so if you could give me an estimate
[17:03] Jon Miller: we have over 100 g right now
[17:04] Impaler: oh excelent then it will be no trouble at all
                    [17:04] Jon Miller: yeah
[17:04] Impaler: and you have some archers in your capitol, 2-3 I presume?
[17:04] Jon Miller: sorry if I say that that informaiton is restricted
[17:05] Impaler: oh yes thats natural
[17:06] Impaler: so you expect these Axmen to camp your country side once again?
                    [17:06] Jon Miller: yeahp\
[17:06] Jon Miller: at the least
[17:06] Impaler: and perhaps attack without warning, no sighn of siege units yet so they cant bombard
[17:07] Jon Miller: no cats yet, but very soon I feel
                    [17:07] Impaler: yes agreed
[17:07] Impaler: so how many axmen are we talking about here?
[17:07] Jon Miller: a goodly number
                    [17:08] Impaler: more then 4?
[17:08] Jon Miller: enough so that we can't defend our capital with 1 unit
[17:08] Jon Miller: our jump in score is because of a civilian build
[17:09] Impaler: we had though it was a combination of territory , population and new units all on the same turn
[17:09] Impaler: we played the last turn very fast and hadnt done a full analysis yet
[17:09] Jon Miller: well, just a guess on my part
[17:09] Impaler: hope your in position to whip some archers
[17:10] Jon Miller: might end up doing that
[17:12] Impaler: ok I'll pass this along and try to impress upon my team mates your sense of urgency
[17:12] Jon Miller: honestly, it might be too late now
                    [17:13] Jon Miller: but thanks
[17:13] Impaler: oh and chop your forests especialy ones adjacent to the city
[17:14] Jon Miller: and we are likely to let in this new blood, which might aid us
[17:15] Impaler: Well if you guys do happen to fall you would be welcome to joing team AC provided Snoopy allows it
                    [17:15] Jon Miller: thanks
[17:15] Impaler: your welcome, I'll see you around
                    [17:15] Jon Miller: peace
[17:16] Jon Miller: too the gym I think

                      That's just plain dumb.
They need all they can get, yet they're not sure whether to let new members in..

Building civilian stuff in the wake of invasion..
They should have researched Masonry instead of PH and built walls.
An archer behind a wall in a +60% culture city is pretty much invulnerable until cats.

They still need to hook up iron in order to upgrade anything, which means they have no chance.

                      • From the sound of it the best way we can help Vox is to force GS to pull some attacking units back to defend. I can't see that we can kill Bananas in time to threaten GS, travel time will mean they'll be finished with Vox by the time we arrive.

So.. unless Vox are pretending things are worse than they are to try and make us help them (I doubt it) they're going to die. Can we beat GS one on one? Without cats? Can we keep up with them with the land distributed as it is?

                        • Can we beat GS one on one?
Currently our mfg goods output is double theirs, once we get the Banana cities, it will be even bigger, so yes.

                          Without cats?
Yes, cats are overrated, we're talking about chukos here

Can we keep up with them with the land distributed as it is?
Yes, if we get all the Banana land (and cities).

Honestly with all the dumb things Vox has done this far, I wont miss them much. If Emperor changes that behaviour, then we must get south there ASAP, otherwise saving Vox could turn out to be pain in the arse.
