  • Thanks.

When do we send it? If they accept right away, it might give them some opportunity window for Library (IIRC they still have to build library in any city, but that can be done rather quickly).

From the other side - we need it in 10 turns at latest (at the time our GP is born).

    • Judging from previous tech deals, I think there is no risk in being "too soon". Propose right away ...

        • I have a feeling that we should get closer to GS, it can't hurt right now and thus I think a teamchat would be in place.

The topics to be discussed with GS:
          - their current research and plans
          - our current research and plans
          - possibilities of closer cooperating in research
          - bringing up the feudalism->guilds->banking/gunpowder plan (which can be furthered into engineering->chemistry->steel)
          - the trade route issue and their reluctance in opening it
          - their war with Vox and our with Banana

          • I decided to take some initiative and here's the result:

            Hi bT,

I have resisted practically all attempts to get involved in diplomacy on top of being turnplayer. Unfortunately it's meant that we effectively have no diplomacy.

I apologize for that, but at the moment it doesn't look like it's going to change. I do diligently posted all official diplomacy emails in the appropriate threads, and people even comment on them, but no one is taking responsibility to respond.

Since I am taking a moment to let you know this, I'll give you a general update: AC remains an ally in our eyes; tech trades are looked on favourably (if they could ever get sorted out); and finally, in case you've noticed Open Borders between us and 'Nana - that was simply to get our lonely warrior SpineBreaker back to our lands. I didn't even ask them about it - I just requested the agreement in game with the unit on their borders, and they granted it.

I am actually trying to see if someone will take over as turnplayer, having served as such for 100 turns now, and with life-changes on the horizon will not have time soon.

            Best regards,
            HM

            Hey notyoueither!

This Team AC calling! We figured out there has been so long silence between our teams, we could go for a chance and set up a little chat. It has been some time we had any of those and I remember them being quite easy and useful way of doing diplomacy.
We've sent you a diplo message earlier, perhaps in a chat things could be easier to discuss.

            best,
            bT from Team AC

Thanks for taking time to answer!

We hope that diplomacy between AC and GS will resume as soon as possible and will be smoother than ever.
The reason why we are starting to grow restless with the poor state of diplomatic affairs (not meaning poor relationships, but lack of communication) is that the teams on the other continent are quite obviously cooperating.
We feel that without closer cooperation in tech plans both yours and our tech lead over opponents could be soon gone. That is especially alarming because both Sarantium and Mercs are Philoshophical civs and thus we only see half their research power now - once they start GPP farming for real, we might be in trouble.

If we go forward together we can cut through tech tree like a hot knife through butter.

in hope a person steps up to take GS diplomacy in his hands,

              • If we believe Hot Mustard (and he is consistent with his earlier expressions) GS is in a rather poor state.

                • Like i have said before, blake isnt a real member of their team, if there is such a thing as a GS team. GS will be going downhill with mustard wanting to leave.

                  • Well, we don't really want them going downhill. If we are to spacerace we need them researching on approx. our speeds or a bit slower and exchanging tech with us.

                    • more reason to get to the other continent quick. If we are the only ones communicating with the others we can perhaps get more out of it all than if GS get there around the same time and reveal that they're a bit weak by neglecting diplomacy.
