The reason Imperio was keen to ally with Templars was Cape Town: we pipped them to the horses & copper by 1 turn or less, and they were understandably hugely disappointed. If they'd beaten us to the spot then we were out of the game. Their mistake was to allow this frustration to guide their strategy: knowing that they couldn't take down RB without breaking their NAP then they should have allied with us to carve up the Templars.
