Can someone sim out the 3-unit Banana attack on The Warning to get an idea about the odds? I just can't believe it will be so easy.

I can sim it out without using a computer. Maceman = strength 8, 50% penalty, 50% bonus versus melee unit vs spear fortified behind cultural defense - First battle should be around 50/50. The two crossbows in reserve should give a 95%+ chance of taking the city if there is no additional unit produced.

Can somebody check if gifted units can move the turn they are gifted in simultaneous turn pitboss? If they can't, we have to donate the city and its garrison this turn. (In case PAL decides to move an extra unit into The Warning.)

It's OK even if gifted units can't move the same turn. As long as the unit is in Acre itself when we gift it, and the galleon can also move into Acre, then the unit can load onto the galleon even with zero movement points remaining.

And why don't you test it yourself? It's clear by now that nobody has specific experience in testing this case. Start up a Pitboss game, two players on a duel map, log in and play both sides alternately, maybe modern start to get the players in contact quicker, until you can test it.

Bad news, the operation is postponed, possibly permenantly.

Also, PAL's stack has 27 units in and is 2E of elephantine. GULP!

He says he has 2 catapults. Probably not enough.

Is there any way we can get Donovan not to call off the attack? Maceman was likely produced in The Warning this turn, and the cuirassiers are just moving through. That's not a permanent garrison there.

If he's unwilling to go through with the attack, then we should request that he gift the galleons to us, so we can do it ourselves. We have plenty of units to sneak in there and raze the city.

I agree - I wouldn't be surprised if the mace stuck around, but keeping three Cuirassiers tied down defending against a boat drop?

If anyone can chat with Donovan I'd like the know the composition of the PAL stack and Donovan's army.

So, what do want Donovan to do now? There's no chance to boat PAL on T172, but T173 is still a possibility if units move out of The Warning.

Do we want him to send a second, empty Galleon to Acre on T172, and leave the current one where it is?

Yes, I think that is the best option.

My 2 cents for what it is worth would be to have the 2nd Galleon moved down just in case.

Definitely move the second galleon in. With RB troops on board it doesn't hurt Donovan's land-based defenses at all.

Ack: asked Donovan to 'send over the Galleon' and he moved it into Acre, not the staging tile I should have been more specific, but hindsight is a wonderful thing

So plan B is delayed to T174. He's still keen to carry out the attack, as I pointed out that we suspect the mace & curries not to be garrison units.

Yep, just logged in and thought wtf, seeing that galleon in Acre without any movement points.

There is always the chance PAL will leave The Warning with just one defender, but otherwise we have to wait for T174.

Jesus Christ... We sent over a screenshot and everything! In our chat, I said "1 tile east of Acre" at least three different times. I don't know much clearer it could have been.

I love ya Donovan, but you could be sharper on the tactical play.
