I like MiOtroCoche's poem very much. I feel bad about betraying Naldo (not Imperio!) as well, so let's refrain from taunting this time and send this when we declare.

As you have now seen our civilizations are at war. We wanted to give you a list of reasons why we don't believe peace is possible:

*Imperio pillaged and sabotaged RB land before we were at war.
*Imperio declared war on RB.
*Imperio was willing to betray the Templars, so it was hard to believe you would not betray us.
*Imperio agreed to trade RB Gunpowder, and then didn't.
*Imperio was never willing to work against PAL to stop them from winning

We did want to tell you we like you, Nalda, very much. We are sorry you are the turnplayer and were the person we attacked. We wrote you this poem:

OK, so Naldo is hopping mad, we need to send him a message with the poem and explaining that they didn't hold up their end of the agreement. Also we probably need to say something in the disputes thread.

Odd to send this with the main threat being public exposure and then immediately "expose" us publicly. I guess he thinks we physically are prohibited from attacking during an NAP or something. I mean, it's a huge diplo hit, but I don't think it will be because of this that relations with PAL break down

FYI, I'm working on a message to send to him in Spanish right now (mostly a translation of Sunrise's)

In the public forum we could maybe explain the ways Imperio of old have wronged us but not necessarily in a personal message to Naldo. I think we should simply explain our reasons for doing what we did in the hopes he understands and hates us less:

Hi Naldo,

We are very sorry we had to take such drastic action against you. We want you to know that we like you Naldo, and it was hard for us to betray you like this. But we had a tough decision to make. Our goal was to win the game and to do that we needed to defeat PAL who are in the lead right now. We felt there were 2 ways for us to do this: Ally with Imperio and stop trading with and ultimately invade PAL, or to take over our own continent like PAL will shortly do, and hope to beat PAL in a head to head race.

We had lots of discussion in our forum and there were many different opinions. We would have preferred to work with you and take on PAL but you were not willing to close borders and stop trading with PAL and because of that we didn't think you would ally with us against them. Unfortunately, we had no choice but to resort to our second option. We are sorry but we felt that taking over all of our continent was our best chance at winning the game.

We regret that we had to do this to you and we hope you don't hate us too much.

OK, here's the Spanish message:

Queremos explicar las razones por que no pensamos que la paz fue posible y declaramos la guerra.

* Imperio saboteó e saqueó ("pillaged") nuestra tierra antes de la primara guerra, cuando habia un NAP entre nosotros.
* Imperio declaró guerra contra RB.
* Imperio estaba dispuesto a traicionar los templars, y por eso fue difÃcil creer que no irias hacer lo mismo con nosotros.
* Imperio concordó en dar Pólvora a RB, y después no lo hizo. Dar pólvora fue parte del tratado que tuvimos. Por isto consideramos el tratado inválido y no existe un NAP entre Imperio y RB.
* Imperio nunca estaba dispuesto a colaborar contra PAL para prevenir ellos de ganar.

Queremos decirte que nos gustas mucho. Nos sentimos que tu eres el que "turnplayer" y fuiste la persona que nosotros atacamos. Nosotros escribimos este poema para ti:

It is the same as what Sunrise wrote, except I added more to the point about Gunpowder:

* Imperio agreed to give RB gunpowder, but later did not. This was part of the treaty that we had. Because of this we consider the treaty invalid and there is no NAP between Imperio and RB.

EDIT: Also I changed the beginning, since now we are responding to his message: We want to explain the reasons we did not think peace was possible and declared war.

EDIT2: I modified the first bullet point to point out that they sabotaged and pillaged while they had a NAP with us.

Any message to Imperio and in public forum should include the fact that they've invalidated the NAP agreement by refusing to trade us Gunpowder and delaying attack on Templars for so long that Templars attacked them instead.

EDIT: The things I listed in Banana thread should also be listed in these messages:
1. Imperio disconnected our Copper during previous NAP cooldown period, sabotaging preparations to meet their attack.
2. Imperio invalidated current agreement by failing to trade us Gunpowder (and ignoring all messages about it), and delaying attack on Templars for so long that they were the ones attacked.
