Since we get no benefit for Globe without drafting, should we target Globe to complete on the turn we discover Nationalism? (This would also give us more flexibility on when to build Theatres. For example, I'd rather build one in Pink than in Cape Town.)

1 - Forge (74/120 hammers); 11 base hammers -> 13; Size 5
2 - Forge (87/120 hammers); 13 base hammers -> 16; Size 6
3 - Forge (119/120 hammers); 13 base hammers -> 16; Size 6
4 - Swap to Theatre (0/50 hammers); 8 base hammers -> 18; Size 6 (drop out of golden age)
5 - Theatre (18/50 hammers); 9 base hammers -> 20; Size 7
6 - Theatre (38/50 hammers); 9 base hammers -> 20; Size 7
7 - Theatre Done with 3 hammers overflow; = (38 + 20 - 50) / (1+25%+100%) = 3.56 rounded down to 3
7 - Forge - whip for 1 pop
8 - Globe - (31) + 10 -> 61 hammers
9 - Barracks, mm to only put 4 hammers into it
10 - Barracks - whip for 2 pop, max overflow is 33 hammers - also generates some gold
11 - Globe - another 61 hammers
So, start of turn 12, 122 hammers into the Globe with no worker action.
Edit: I have a whole series of screenshots stepping thru the 12 turns - actually got to 124 hammers into the Globe. I'll post screenshots tomorrow.Last edited by ruff_hi; April 23, 2009, 23:18.Quote: "All Happiness is the release of internal pressure"

Sorry Ruff, I tried to log in 3 times to change Green Acres to forge but I couldn't manage it. A guy called pablo from PAL was logged in and I couldn't connect to him - the game suggested his firewall was not configured properly.
Have to generate a new simulation with barracks as the build from this turn.

yeah - I cannot connect to him either and civstats looks like he isn't logged in - something is broken. If more than 4 hammers went into the Barracks (pretty sure it did), then we'll have to 1-pop whip it with non max overflow. oh-well.Quote: "All Happiness is the release of internal pressure"

GA has 13 hammers into the Barracks. That is way too many for a double whip with forge (4) and 1 too many for a double whip without the forge (12). I think the best option (to get overflow into The Globe) is to let it get down to almost complete and whip it then. However, that is 4 turns of production into a barracks instead of The Globe. I think we have missed our overflow opportunity with the Barracks.
Once we start The Globe proper - we can always double whip a cat or two ...
Turn 0: Normal production (max 12 hammers!) into Cat (38 remaining)
Turn 1: Whip Cat for 2 pop (75 hammers) + Normal production (say 12)
Turn 2: The Globe with 40 hammer overflow (plus some gold)
This way, we spend 2 turns of normal production (24 base hammers), 2 population points off GA and we get 40 base hammers, a cat and some gold - a pretty good returnQuote: "All Happiness is the release of internal pressure"

The only thing we missed is the chance to double-whip the barracks. Since the barracks is now only a single whip, we should finish the forge first, in order to get the +25% hammers when we do whip the barracks.

I haven't simmed this but I think we should change GA to the following:
1 - Forge (74/120 hammers); 13 base hammers -> 16; Size 6
2 - Forge (90/120 hammers); 13 base hammers -> 16; Size 6
3 - Forge (106/120 hammers); 8 base hammers -> 10; Size 6 (drop out of golden age)
4 - Forge (116/120 hammers) - push it down the queue
4 - Swap to Theatre (0/50 hammers); 8 base hammers -> 18; Size 6
5 - Theatre (18/50 hammers); 9 base hammers -> 20; Size 7
6 - Theatre (38/50 hammers); 9 base hammers -> 20; Size 7
7 - Theatre Done with 3 hammers overflow; = (38 + 20 - 50) / (1+25%+100%) = 3.56 rounded down to 3
7 - Forge - whip for 1 pop
8 - Globe - (about 28) + 10 -> 57 hammers into The Globe
The key is to get the forge overflow into The Globe and not into the Theatre.Quote: "All Happiness is the release of internal pressure"

Ruff, your sim gets +57 hammers into the globe without barracks, whereas my sim got 38 hammers into it 3 turns earlier and having finished a barracks.
Also, it seems counterintuitive to leave the forge till last. I think we should whip it this turn.
