  • The idea of setting up Globe pump is that it will keep going for the entire duration of the game. So Green Acres does look like a better location. Cape Town can get next instructor.

It was a Warlords or BtS or patch change....at some point it did make 2 exp only.

I still like the GG in Cape Town more though. I find the ability to make combat II or sentry mounted knights, and some city-defense lowering cats (what is that promo called?) to be more useful...though not overwhelmingly so considering Green Acres will make more total units.

Are you guys on crack. Originally, Barracks gave 4XP but that was cut to 3XP with the release of Warlords.

'Accuracy' - I think an additional 2XP out of Cape Town would trump the 1XP from GA.

woo hoo! My wife publishes her first book. Buy it now in paperback format at lulu and help me retire so I can write more BUG mod code.

        • A reminder that we get another great person in 3 turns (T157) with 88% chance of a scientist, 12% artist. Part of me is now hoping for an artist to set off a culture bomb just after Imperio get Jerusalem and Constantinople . With an empty garrison, Jerusalem would revolt very quickly.

          • Man that's a waste of a bomb if we are going to take their cities just a dozen turns later. Wouldn't it better to ice the GA for a golden age?

            • I'd rather have a scientist to catch up on research.

Yeah I was kinda half-kidding. Saving for a GA is probably the best plan but by far the less amusing one

                • Wasn't there talk about hiring a scientist to speed up the GP by one turn? Presumably, since we are dialing up research only if we go for Gunpowder on our won, it makes sens to decide that at the end of this turn.

                  • I think that was only the case if we were in Merc, or if we didn't have a bank to complete.

                    • No, just checked, we could pull a citizens from a cottage and assign it as scientist. Brings down GP to 2turns and bank unchanged.

I think that is worth it.

                      • How so...surely we're planning to save the GS anyway seeing as we don't need to bulb optics, and a GA doesn't have any immediate either as far as I can see. Doesn't seem worth the loss of food & commerce to me.

                        • Agreed - no need to sacrifice productivity at our Bureaucratic capital for a one turn gain on the scientist.
