In single player I'd sure put Moai in Saxon. Something Fishy is solid on land tiles and won't even want to work very many 2-1-2 water tiles. Saxon is almost useless without Moai and will be thrilled to have 2-1-2 water tiles.

Sounds like the team is leaning towards Saxon for Maoi Statues. That sounds like a fine suggestion, and we still have some time to change our minds if need be. Looks like the stone city gets to use its own resource on something.
Just so no one freaks out, I intend to swap us back to Math research (at 0%, as suggested) tomorrow morning, a couple hours before the turn timer runs out. I dunno if the whole phony Drama research is doing anything, but it's fun tweaking Imperio's nose!

I'll add another vote for Maoi at Saxon: It will be used to full potential there much earlier than it would be at Something Fishy, so we would get more benefit from it when it matters if we put it in Saxon. (By the time we get to the point in the game where Something Fishy is ready to work more than a couple water tiles, the presence of this wonder will make much less difference to overall empire production.)
PS Sulla, be careful with those research swaps. If you can't connect to the game for some reason (such as server having problems again), we'll be stuck wasting research on Drama.

Argh. Of course the game would have to go down with just a few hours left on the turn timer. That's what I get for assuming anything would work simply and easily in this game...
I'll keep an eye on the game throughout the day. If anyone else sees that the game is up, however, feel free to log in and correct our research. We want:
0% research, Mathematics tech selected
We make some beakers even at 0%, so it's important to have the right tech queued up. Thanks.

Finished the turn 1hour before the turn timer would have ticked over.
Sullla will update you after he played the turn.
I put our research back to Drama @ 100% after the 15beakers went to Math last turn.
One thing that has happened is the 3rd ring border pop of Heliopolis, denying us access to that coast to their east, probably putting the estimated time to meet Bananas boat up by ~3turns.

Great, thanks mh.
I had no intention of running those so closely - I would have logged in this morning with roughly 6 hours to go on the timer - but the game being down really screwed things up. I'm at work right now, and while I technically could log into the game on my laptop, that's not exactly the sort of thing that's smiled upon in the British Library.
Should get at least some early turn reporting done later this evening.

Here are some highlights from T110. First:
Originally posted by sooooo View PostLooks like Green Acres should be whipped this turn - I'd set it on a lighthouse next. Something Fishy looks fine - set it onto a courthouse after the library is finished and whip it when it is whippable.
Green Acres was JUST whipped, two turns ago (granary). Is it the right move to whip it again now, on library? I'm not so sure, but then again I was never good with the math on double-whips versus the single ones. Can someone look at the math on this one? Keep in mind, we have a forest chop arriving at Green Acres in 3t as well, which will get the full 30 shields from Math.
- We need ivory from PAL, on this turn, to keep Airstrip One (now size 7! yay!) happy. I have proposed an email message in the PAL thread, so keep an eye on that.
- Scouting stuff in the east: I didn't move either the scout (Sharon) or the warrior (Jennifer) yet. Where should I be moving these two to meet Banana?
Move Jennifer in the direction shown? That was my impression, but I do NOT want to screw this up! Any suggestions on moving Sharon would be appreciated as well. I was going to move her north, and clear out the NE corner of the eastern continent, then swing west and continue clearing fog.
- Scouting stuff in the south: how do we want to move Lady Godiva (chariot) and Billy Jean Tell (archer) for maximum advantage?
My suggested move is in yellow; our chariot will get line of sight into both Damascus AND Calakmul that way. Sadly, I don't see any way to get line of sight into Constantinople without double-moving, or violating Templar territory. They don't have a road network in place for us to exploit... Lady Godiva could theoretically continue SE in the hopes of spotting a Banana city across the water, in the extreme corner of our continent.
I don't know where to go with our archer next from here. Suggestions?
- Cape Town build spearman this turn; we now have 2 spears, 1 axe, and 1 archer in there. sunrise, what is your suggested build next? We have spear queued up at the moment, but that can very easily be changed.
- Mathematics due in 2t at 100% research. We have just enough cash to get there, then we'll be in Bureaucracy and HR civics! Also, Great Scientist due in 5 more turns in China Beach. Hmm, methinks that our commerce in Airstrip One is about to explode!
- Saxon is still size 2, and Betty Hur can attack it next turn (at 99%+ odds). Just cross your fingers that an archer doesn't show up between turns... If we're lucky, there's a barb worker sitting around for us to capture too!
Originally posted by DreylinWhere (and when) are we building our next Settler?
Good question! I think we should have Something Fishy be the next city to build us a settler; it will take quite a while to cut cottages out of the jungle there (it will grow faster than we can build them), so it's a logical city to halt growth for a little bit. Here's what I would do: finish the Library build (due next turn), then pop out a fast lighthouse (4t). It takes 4t to grow to size 5 anyway, then by working the fish (6 food with lighthouse!), marble, 2 grassland hills, and a grassland cottage, we could produce a settler in 8 turns.
We could alternately do something with the whip, which would probably be faster. I'm merely outlining one possible solution! The only other decent city I see would be China Beach, and that location doesn't have as many food or shields to work with. So that's my two cents. What would our whipping experts suggest?
OK, that's about all for this turn. I'll have to do the stats tomorrow, just too tired right now to calculate all those C&D builds.

Fine with Sharon (the scout) & Jennifer.
I think we should sail down the channel with the galley, getting us line of sight into at least 2 of PALs cities by sneaky step in step out tactics.
Lady Godiva as suggested and then towards the southeastern corner.
Billy Jean Tell should trace back its steps and camp on the hill between Chichen Itza and Mutal.
Saxon: There is a slight possibility that the deer tile is occupied by the Imperio warrior (Tarzan) that is till up there in the north somewhere. That would explain, why Saxon did not work that tile.

Sulla - I would build one more spear, then an axe, then an archer. Really though, as nice as it is to crank military, the only long-term use of our collective axes+spears is to hit an Imperio stack after we cat and flank it, or to soak up collateral if Imperio attacks us in the city for some reason.
I strongly agree we need those forests chopped ASAP though.
