    Following up on the espionage cost formula:

    The cost multiplier for City X can be found by working from the cost of the "Investigate City" passive mission. (One could work through the entire formula for distance and all the other factors, but that's not necessary.)

    BaseCost for Investigate City is 2 * (100 + TheirEP).
    TheirEP is 112, so BaseCost = 424.
    The game shows 491 as investigate city cost.
    Multiplier = 491/424 = 115% (or +15%.)

    For Sabotage Production, BaseCost is 6 * hammers.
    6 * Hammers * Multiplier = FinalCost
    6 * Hammers * 115% = 556
    Hammers = 80

    So Mutal already has 80 hammers towards something. This rules out all units other than a settler and all buildings except a library or wonder. Do we think it's a settler, or library, or the Oracle? My money's on the last.

    Should we go back to Aesthetics for this turn and see how Mutal's hammer count changes, before sinking research into Priesthood? (Quick discussion essential, only 2 hours left in the turn)

      Yes, we can do that. We can still research Priesthood in 1 turn, starting on T90 or T91, and be done in time for Oracle to start in capital on T92, as in Ruff's post above.

      I will make the desired change, as we still have about 90 minutes left. It's been quite a busy turn for us!

        Don't we need Priesthood anyway? (For the CoL trade.)

        EDIT: And with Mutal at 80 production our chances of landing Oracle are so low that we might as well stick with original plan, that doesn't chop forests until the last possible moment.

          With Imperio surely landing the Oracle on T92 then it probably makes sense to assume that they will go for a GLib grab. With BUR to power their research and production at Mutal, we need to come up with a plan that gives us Great Library in the fewest turns possible. I think it would be time to turn the War Room over to these efforts. What do you guys think?

            I think the war room thread should be about creating the war room game duplicate of the actual game. Individual efforts (ie Oracle discussion, GLib dicussion) should have their own thread.

            And I admit that I am the main culprit regarding spamming this thread full of Oracle stuff (sorry).

                I had planned on doing it once our shadow squares are revealed. I'll also put in what we know of the other continent.
